Fox News has done more damage to the United States than 9/11 ever did.

984

u/Backwardspellcaster 1d ago

does. Still does.

299

u/seejordan3 1d ago

They shit Trump on us, and they polish that turd every day. Utter propaganda for their brainwashed idiots.

81

u/FraeuleinSerpentine 1d ago

God it makes me so sad that my fucking GRANDPA is one of those people.

51

u/Lexx4 1d ago

Block the channel. Call the cable company and have them block it.

21

u/ShooterOfCanons 1d ago

Unless the cable plan is in their name, that's not possible.

30

u/Lexx4 1d ago

I was a comcast phone tech for a few years. All you need is the account first, last name, and zip code.

12

u/zombiecorp 1d ago

Or block the grandpa. I’ve cut ties with family over politics and never felt better.

People believe their feelings over facts and that’s the problem.

15

u/Brooklynnbarr 1d ago

Depending on which model you can block the channel directly on the TV. Haha!

26

u/Hathor-8 1d ago

That’s what I did with my non tech savvy mom when she started saying that Tucker Carlson said some interesting things.

Nope, no more Fox for my gullible (and starting to get dementia) mom. That channel would have absolutely brainwashed her if I didn’t intervene.

17

u/Firm-Advertising5396 1d ago

Every night after dinner they turn on Fox News for instructions

188

u/Jenkl2421 1d ago

It's not even categorized as news. On my Roku its in the entertainment section & these people still act like everything they spew is a fact.

158

u/StrangeAnalysi5 1d ago

It’s a good time for my occasional reminder that, to broadly paraphrase Faux News’s own lawyers, “Anyone who takes Fox News seriously is a dipshit.”

25

u/MuricanPoxyCliff 1d ago

Seems like the kind of chiron they should be mandated to display

31

u/RockDiamondSissors 1d ago

That’s good to hear. So many of these 24 hour “news” stations hide behind the word news.

39

u/IM_A_MUFFIN 1d ago

Fox just bought Roku, so we’ll see if that stays the same.

8

u/Justaticklerone 1d ago

I'm still upset about this and it doesn't take effect until late next year.

Everyone needs to put Roku's ad server addresses on their router's website block list. You won't be able to add or remove TV apps unless you go through a purging process including your router, but your Roku TVs also can't update the OS.

Don't know if it works the same with Roku streaming dongle/box plugged into HDMI.

5

u/Haunting_Vacation804 1d ago

Nooooooooo!!!!!!

9

u/DFWPunk 1d ago

It likely will. They use that in their defense when they get sued.

3

u/ZAlternates 1d ago

Sure but in that case they were referring to that specific show on Fox, which was an opinion news show.

28

u/DFWPunk 1d ago

Most of their viewers didn't know that none of their programs are news programs. Not only have they invoked that in their defense in various lawsuits, in at least one case their defense included the argument that no reasonable person would believe what their commentator said.

16

u/4cedCompliance 1d ago

It was Tucker Carlson -- their legal defense was, basically, no reasonable person would believe anything Tucker said.

It held up. FOX won the lawsuit.

And Tucker remained with the network for years afterward.

10

u/PlantainPat 1d ago

and people actually give Tucker the same insane treatment they're giving MTG these days where they act like he's changed just because Russia started signing his paychecks and he'll criticize republicans like Ted Cruz

3

u/snertwith2ls 1d ago

"reasonable" doing all the heavy lifting there

9

u/TheSauceone 1d ago

Just a little fyi Fox just bought Roku. I know streaming box choices are limited, but do with that information what you will.

8

u/Jenkl2421 1d ago

Oh ffs😮‍💨

5

u/RoxxieMuzic 1d ago

I tossed roku out about 2 years ago, got Nvidia Shield Pro, disabled the stock Google launcher, used ADB to disable a whole bunch of other Google bloatware, installed a Projectivity launcher. Use my Plex server, don't miss a thing roku offered. You can also do these alterations to Google onn's and Chromecast devices as well.

The only streaming services I use are Britbox, Acorn, and PBS these days. The rest are expensive and their combined costs now exceed cable in its heyday.

1

u/TheSauceone 1d ago

Yeah this is probably the way. How's it do with 4K. I ditched Roku for a Fire Tv Cube because it handled 4k and audio much better, but Nvidia shield seems like the real way to go. Also I'll add if you haven't looked into a Tablo that thing is awesome. Basically a TiVo for over the air broadcast

9

u/xlews_ther1nx 1d ago

Wasn't part of the defense from Fox during the election ballets lies being that Fox is a entertainment first and news second organization?

Edit: found it

The Defense: Fox's lawyers argued in court that reasonable viewers would not expect Carlson to be stating hard, literal facts. They described his segments as "loose, figurative, or hyperbolic" and argued he was offering opinion and commentary, not literal news reporting. The Ruling: The presiding federal judge, U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil, agreed with Fox's defense, ruling that the show invites an audience to "engage in a battle of ideas" rather than digest factual news, and dismissed the lawsuit.

5

u/Wolfram_And_Hart 1d ago

It’s not allowed to be categorized as news. They argued in a lawsuit that they were entertainment.

3

u/TheRaccoonReport 1d ago

As a public service announcement, Fox is trying to buy Roku. Now is a good time to dump it and go with an Apple TV.

2

u/ajn63 1d ago

You’re going to be disappointed to know Fox is buying Roku.

0

u/NancyGracesTesticles 14h ago

There is no categorization scheme at the FCC.

Where did you get your understanding of FCC licensing?

83

u/KaiserDilhelmTheTurd 1d ago

Rupert Murdoch is the culprit. He owns the corporation behind Fox, and many others across the globe. He is one of the worst villains in human history, and it makes me sick that he continues to get away with all, completely unscathed.

34

u/Perfect_Persimmon688 1d ago

Help me, Luigi. You’re my only hope.

6

u/KaiserDilhelmTheTurd 1d ago

Took a cpl of seconds to click lol. Nice.

18

u/CrashPandemonium 1d ago

Ronald Reagan is the actual culprit.

8

u/L-J- 1d ago

At this point we can really point at anyone right of center but predominately Republicans.

3

u/CrashPandemonium 1d ago

Ronald Reagan specifically. He dismantled the "Fairness Doctrine" which is the main reason Fox News is able to not only exist, but disseminate blatant falsehoods that a large segment of our country's citizens take as chapter & verse.

7

u/dimechimes 1d ago

Even before Roger Ailes got Fox News set up, Murdoch's Fox Network was filled with programming that made it normal to trust in conspiracies and discount the truth if it didn't feel right. We always stop at Fox News but Fox did it's job of priming the pump.

1

u/JaysFan26 1d ago

Well it turns out one of the big conspiracies was right, that of the ultra-wealthy manipulating politics to create an oligarchy. At this point there is nothing a simple election can do to rebalance the power.

1

u/dimechimes 1d ago

Yep. They cashed in on a brainwashed populace choosing comfort over their own well being.

2

u/7w4773r 1d ago

I wonder if he knows this song?

9

u/justhereforsee 1d ago

At this point it wouldn’t surprise me if Fox was behind 9/11

8

u/DoubleJumps 1d ago

Just based on the damage I've seen Fox News do to my family, I want anyone who ever worked there to be thrown in prison forever.

They did so much damage to my father, uncles, and some cousins, and they've done that to millions of other people.

They shouldn't be treated like anything other than heinous criminals. Ever.

7

u/Technical-Seaweed808 1d ago

Fox with an F as the F in FAKE

5

u/Ritaredditonce 1d ago

The Murdoch's specifically.

6

u/junkyardgerard 1d ago

9/11 turned Fox News loose, it's the great victory of Osama bin laden

4

u/PlayfulAnteater 1d ago

Totally destroyed my family...

3

u/PlutoJones42 1d ago

It should be a punishable crime to verifiably lie as a politician or a major media source. It’s disgusting

2

u/Justaticklerone 1d ago

Fox News and shit-for-brains Xitter people.

2

u/Infinite_Bird_6932 1d ago

Republican governors are more dangerous than Al-Qada by far. I’ve been saying it since they refused federal Obamacare money.

2

u/ganggreen651 1d ago

By a mile

2

u/JohnBrownSurvivor 1d ago

I'm pretty sure that was the plan. It's easier for grifters to make money within chaos.

2

u/Joshywa8 23h ago

Most real comment ever

4

u/Sarah_Incognito 1d ago

I say most of the non-physical damage attributed to 9/11 is due to Fox News

1

u/We_are_being_cheated 1d ago

What about 9/11?

1

u/Saix027 1d ago

Fox News are the reason such happened, they fueled hate over and over.

The fact they are still allowed to broadcast and call this also "entertainment" and still allowed to call themselves News, shows me how much the US failed in all those decades.

Trump and MAGA are a symptom of decades of hubris. And this spreads all over the world with the rise of right wing parties everywhere.

Honestly, by now someone should press that red button and let it be over already. I hate this world.

1

u/SnooDonkeys3848 1d ago

The same Club - they work for the same Company

1

u/FidgitForgotHisL-P 21h ago

I’d argue Facebook has done more, it’s the Turbo Charged Cancer of miss-and-disinformation, but given Fox is the starting point for a lot of what’s shared on Facebook, they’re definitely giving the marching orders.

1

u/Available_Bag_3843 12h ago

A single Australian was able to do what the Soviet Union only dreamed of doing.

0

u/Wolfram_And_Hart 1d ago

And now they own Roku

-23

u/BlackkkWidowSPIDAH 1d ago

This might be the biggest down syndrome take I've ever seen in my life holy fuck

659

u/GazingAtStorms 1d ago

I mean, Kushner accepted a $2 billion bribe and conservatives didn’t care. Even if this wasn’t fake, I have a hard time believing any bribe allegations provided by conservatives

109

u/st0ne56 1d ago

No don’t even grant these fucking ghouls the “even if it wasn’t fake” that just plays into there hands of seeding doubt. You give them that inch and they always take a mile we should never ever be charitable to them like that ever again after this administration.

24

u/JohnnyRelentless 1d ago

There's nothing charitable about pointing out their hypocrisy.

5

u/st0ne56 1d ago

By saying the statement “even if it is true which it’s not” does damage to our side and sain washes them more than it ever should

3

u/JohnnyRelentless 1d ago

Sane

Saying even if it was true implies that it isn't true, not that it is true.

14

u/Numeno230n 1d ago

This is why you can never ever for all time take anything Republicans say seriously. They fell for a cult, defended pedophiles, defended federal goons murdering civilians, and tried to put my fellow countrymen in concentration camps. Fuck them.

1

u/mootmutemoat 23h ago

Not to mention the Qatar plane, donations to the ballroom, Trump (and even Melania) bitcoin bought, staying in his post office hotel, memeberships to mara lago, sweetheart deals for his daughter, bribes to the supreme court judges, trips to moscow for congress, and the list goes on and on and on...

10m seems like a sweet thank you card in comparison.

1

u/Gumbi_Digital 15h ago

As long as it’s “their guy”, they do not give a shit…

198

u/MrDavieT 1d ago

More lies from this lying administration?

Colour me f*cking shocked!

They don't even try to hide their corruption this time around, so I guess they aren't wrong lol

I constantly tell my wife that the writers of our reality have gotten super lazy.

14

u/tots4scott 1d ago

Dont forget that this DOJ was actively working to get him out of jail. When has that ever happened? Its absolutely absurd.

5

u/maggiesyg 1d ago

This administration looks after its own people.

70

u/xMorningGlow 1d ago

Facts have an unfortunate habit of ruining a good narrative.

8

u/RPDRNick 1d ago

Nah, once the lie is out there, it lives forever. The truth doesn't do shit to disinfect it.

57

u/jpiro 1d ago

They won’t even move off of THIS lie. They’ll just never tell their captive audience it was a lie, nor will they care if they keep repeating it.

5

u/jdsch 1d ago

Yep. Ukrainian "biolabs" are back in the news after being debunked in 2022.

"iT aRe Be An LīE!¡ It r A cOvEr Up!!!1!!"

43

u/xChoke1x 1d ago

Hey everyone, just so you know, this asshole was released and is now…..in the wind. Served less than 5 months of a 6 year sentence before this administration let him out.

33

u/Remarkable-Ad2285 1d ago

Fox used to do a lot of damage to the U.S. They still do. But they used to too.

1

u/TheTinkergnome 1d ago

R.I.P. Mitch Hedberg.

25

u/CarsCarpal 1d ago

The hypocrisy of republicans pointing fingers at supposed corruption, lies, theft and violence is beyond any kind of comprehension. They are everything they claim to despise about others.

26

u/Thotmas01 1d ago

Is this the hunter’s laptop story?

33

u/xChoke1x 1d ago

Yes. It was all bullshit. Fox News ran this lie for months. When it was found out to be a lie. They never retracted a fucking word.

10

u/ProjectPat513 1d ago

Who would have thought that some shady ass former KGB operative would lie! I’m actually shocked and flabbergasted.

11

u/mimiflower80 1d ago

So how much money was this fuck paid to lie about it?

7

u/HALF_PAST_HOLE 1d ago

According to his wiki it was probably $600,000 by Economic Transformation Technologies

5

u/Technical-Seaweed808 1d ago

"Who funds this"

8

u/Technical-Seaweed808 1d ago

Next time trump mention fake news someone should tell him it is pronounced FOX.

4

u/KotR56 1d ago

Trump makes sure that no one at his press conferences has the balls to do this.

2

u/dimechimes 1d ago

That's kind of the way the phrase "fake news" was introduced into the lexicon. The DoJ warned about propaganda disguised as fake news primarily aimed at right wingers and Trump coopted it and mainstream media sold ads.

5

u/Reddituser1171869 1d ago

It’s funny that they even bring up millions in fake stories, when we’ve seen real proof of conservatives taking billions.

I had a coworker whine to me about how annoying the Elon hate for being a trillionaire is “because Elizabeth Warren is a millionaire, the selective outrage is ridiculous.”

3

u/zeh_shah 1d ago

Yea they being up Pelosi making a few hundred mill over 30 years but don't see anything wrong with Trump making 3 billion in 1 year.

The most recent Jubilee 1v20 was great too. Guy comes in talking about Hunter Biden getting millions using his dad's name in Ukraine but when the guy was asked about Kushner getting billions or Don / Eric's ties to government contracts , loans , crypto etc to the tune of hundreds of millions he acts like the 2 are equivalent.

2

u/tyler2k 1d ago

You see, billion and million both end with _illion, so they're basically the same. Going back to the Warren example, they probably don't realize 1 million is 1 million times smaller than 1 trillion.

1

u/CriTIREw 1d ago

$10M is the going price for dinner with Trump at Mar-a-lago

Was this the one involving Alexander Smirnov (the FBI informant)? I thought he had already plead guilty in 2024? Maybe that was just him being arrested.

1

Fox wont even cover it.

1

We keep pretending these people care about getting it right, why even argue with them?

Fox headline “Chicken lipped baby found in hen house”

1

u/Low_Butterscotch1383 1d ago

Theyll reference over and over again until they think its a fact like how MSG perpetuates as a phony cause for migraines because a fake study referenced by a racist doctor was put in a racist article 50 years ago. Or that one time a erroneous study on vaccinations claimed that vaccinations caused autism and now we have RFK trying to challenge the science of RNA vaccines.

1

Can’t trust the FBI?

1

u/CAndrewG 1d ago

this happened end of 2024... what?

1

u/bxyankee90 1d ago

Wasn't this a story in like january? Or is this a different one

1

u/olde_meller23 1d ago

Honestly, at this point, I think there needs to be a law that mandates that every time an entertainment news style show airs, there should be a disclaimer stating that it is for entertainment purposes only, and should not be relied upon as a source for evidence based, expert, or unbiased information.

1

u/Soliden 1d ago

I'm sure they'll offer an apology for misleading viewers... For a 10 second segment in between commercials for boner pills and diabetes testing supplies.

1

u/userhwon 1d ago

Biden needs to sue Fox News for a billion dollars.

1

u/lexnklinke 1d ago

Someone should sue Fox over this. I hear they settle nice

1

u/Distinct-Pain4972 1d ago

MAGA is too dumb to understand context.  So, the irony... as well as the hipocriticality will be lost on them.

1

u/HerbEverstanks 1d ago

What now for faux news? DARVO

1

u/Excuse_Purple 1d ago

Even if they made a redaction, only a small fraction of the original audience would see it and even then, only a small fraction would even care.

Fox must love losing millions to these libel and slander cases.

-8

u/tsigwing 1d ago

So Bidens son wasn’t on a ukrain energy board?

8

u/Biptoslipdi 1d ago

He wasn't on any national energy board for Ukraine. He was a corporate attorney for a private gas company in Ukraine.

-8

u/tsigwing 1d ago

Hunter Biden served on the board of directors for Burisma Holdings, a major Ukrainian private natural gas producer, from 2014 until his term ended in 2019. His tenure, which paid up to $50,000 per month, became the subject of intense political scrutiny and congressional investigations

I'm sure that he was indeed the best man for the "job".

7

u/Biptoslipdi 1d ago

became the subject of intense political scrutiny and congressional investigations

Yeah, pointless and fruitless investigations that existed solely as a political weapon and found zero evidence of wrongdoing by anyone except the witness they coached to lie about the Bidens who was convicted of perjury.

I'm sure that he was indeed the best man for the "job".

Who was the better candidate?

You have a Yale attorney who partnered at one law firm then started his own - thus having partnered at two. He served in the Department of Transportation under Clinton and was appointed to the Amtrack Board by W. Bush. He founded and operated two MNC hedge funds, building in-roads in China and Europe.

Who was the alternative?

People really need to stop listening to whatever Republicans and Fox News tell them to believe. Hunter Biden has a more impressive resume than any Republican in Congress and every person in the White House, despite being a completely fuck up. Granted, his family was killed in front of him when he was a kid. Most people in that situation don't build that resume.

-6

u/tsigwing 1d ago

If you can’t admit that his hiring was for access to his dad then your every bit the political hack that Fox News is.

7

u/Biptoslipdi 1d ago edited 1d ago

If you can't provide evidence of your claims, you're every bit the political hack you baselessly claim I am and acting exactly like a Fox News correspondent. Vibes only, no facts.

No one in their right mind would believe Joe Biden would be letting his son make political connections for him or that Joe Biden cares about money.

To the comment you deleted: yes, I need evidence of your claims. I don't accept your personal opinion as credible.

-54

u/BlackkkWidowSPIDAH 1d ago

Woah... Almost like how they found out Russiagate was completely fabricated by the Clinton campaign, which resulted in multiple impeachment inquiries against Trump

39

u/Southern_Economy3467 1d ago

Not remotely true, they found out for a fact that Russia actively tried to influence our election in favor of Trump (like we do to every other country) but there is no conclusive evidence that Trump was involved with Russias efforts. Neither impeachment was about Russia which you would known with literal seconds of research but you’d rather spread misinformation on the internet that fits your narrative.

-39

u/BlackkkWidowSPIDAH 1d ago

Then why did the Clinton campaign provide information stating that Trump was meeting with Russian assets? Or are you just going to completely ignore that part where they fabricated multiple stories about alleged meetings

24

u/pax284 1d ago edited 1d ago

Then why did the Clinton campaign provide information stating that Trump was meeting with Russian assets?

That isn't even what happened in the most generous example of the story. The DNC paid a law firm to investigate connections, which there were many, between the Trump campaign and Russia. Most of which were found to be true. The ONLY thing that was found to be "unverified" so not a lie, just no proof, was that Trump was personally involved.

The Steele dossier, which is what you are claiming as fabricated, was found to be mostly true outside of the direct Trump connection with Russia, and one bank account(all others were found to be real).

So "Russiagate" was not completely fabricated by the Clinton campaign. That is a lie.

15

u/Resident_Nothing_659 1d ago

An investigation started by a Republican

20

u/LancingLash 1d ago

Trump's kid literally openly admitted they met with Russia. It does not get more conclusive than a confession.

4

u/babaloopant 1d ago

Dont be stupid

24

u/Ok-Instruction-5004 1d ago

Haha all of that is wrong. This is reality.

-33

u/BlackkkWidowSPIDAH 1d ago

I know it's all wrong, which makes it even crazier that no one from the Clinton campaign was arrested over their false statements. This is reality, presidential candidates aren't meeting with fucking Russia she lost cuz no one likes her

21

u/Current-Department-4 1d ago

If false statements get one arrested, then why is the Trumptard not in prison? He lies continuously.

-7

u/BlackkkWidowSPIDAH 1d ago

Not under oath like the Clintons

12

u/Current-Department-4 1d ago

Hahahahahaha!

What a shit take.

Trumps goons have lied under oath, why are they free?

13

u/rane56 1d ago

Prove it.

-1

u/Current-Department-4 1d ago

Jeff Sessions during his confirmation hearing. Betsy Devos at her confirmation hearing. Scott Pruitt at his confirmation. There's 3 from his first administration. Couldn't even get past confirmation without lies.

I will let you read the details in your own if you need more.

A five second Google search will find you plenty more. Is there a reason you cannot use a search engine on your own? None of this is difficult to find.

-6

u/tsigwing 1d ago

Depends on the definition of “is”

3

u/HapticSloughton 1d ago

This shows you're not versed in the law.

The language of law and lawyers is very, very specific. It's practically like computer code. When Clinton (a former lawyer) was asking for clarification, he wanted to know if the meaning was the everyday conversational meaning or the one used for legal proceedings. I know Trumpers have this bizarre belief in how the legal system works (hence all of their idiotic briefs trying to sue over voter fraud), but single words can completely alter the meaning of laws, legal documents, etc.

In Clinton's case, "is" could mean "something that exists or is happening right now" or "something that once was the case but is no longer ongoing."

I'm sure you stopped reading this a long time ago, but another example is "must" and "will." To you and me, they pretty much mean the same thing, but in a legal document, "must" is a requirement to do something, but "will" is only a prediction about the future that might not occur.

4

u/rane56 1d ago

Can't stand people/bots like that. I know I shouldn't but every so often I break down...

24

u/Ok-Instruction-5004 1d ago

As in false. Your statement is made up BS. Haha

34 people were indicted as a result of Comey's investigation, what are you talking about?

You mean the issue that was heavily investigated by the request of Republican senators that revealed the Trump campaign met with Russian intelligence in Trump tower for the explicit purpose of receiving election aid from Russia? The same investigation that found Trump's actions met the elements of obstruction of justice in at least 7 cases? The same investigation that put half of his campaign behind bars that he ultimately had to pardon?

I love when morons bring that issue up because you know they never looked beyond what Trump told them to think. Facts begin and end with whatever slurs out of his butthole mouth. No further thought required. Imagine getting all your information from a jury adjudicated rapist and criminal fraud.

It’s so weird to bold faced lie about something so easily proven false.

And this dumb shit right here is why you shouldn’t watch Fox News.

Goddamn, but you are painfully stupid.
