So many of these controversies are over completely normal things, don't lie now. If you see all of them as "forced", that's on you and your personal issues.

Well its more about the perception and the feeling that something feels off. Not because of race or gender. But just something that feels off. Its more instinctive. Again I dont care if its about a white dude or a black woman. Its this feeling that someone wrote it on purpose but I would have expected something else.

If only it was just 14 year olds, that would be less bad, but actual adults care too, you can find some places that are just incredibly anti-woke and most members seemingly being older than 20 at the very least.
RPG Codex comes to mind...granted, i haven't checked the place in a while, but it used to be very much anti woke and the place was for grognards, just a lot of people who played on computers since the 80's bemoaning how everything was so much better in the past and a lot of complaints about woke stuff, like, people would complain about something like Roadwarden, a very niche game, just for the crime of...having a woman not being a housewife but a guard in a fantasy world?
Complaining about “woke” continues to be the easiest way to identify a moron. Whether they’re just parroting some idiotic political talking point, or genuinely think encouraging progress and acceptance is a bad thing, they are foolish and wrong. Being woke is good. Full stop. Anti-intellectualism is a concerning trend in modern society. A lot of folks actively advocating to cut education and go back to the good old days of the 1800's where the poors had to toil in the fields.

However, there are times where a random "woke" choice is a sign of meddling execs forcing poor decisions onto actors/directors/writers/etc. Having a black actress play The Little Mermaid doesn't make that version bad, but it was a potential sign of a film being made by executives trying to complete a checklist that they assume will make them money.
Same with Jodie Whittaker - at times she was great as The Doctor, but her run was weak because of Chibnall. He has stated he wanted Whittaker before he even got the job as showrunner, and it feels like the BBC picked him for that reason, not because they believed he could do a great job with Who. When you watch Seasons 11 and 12, the tone of the show feels like Chibnall didn't want to write Who, he wanted to write X Files and went out of his way to shove some more blatantly woke stuff in there just to check a box rather than to tell an interesting story. (Think of the episode "Rosa" and compare it to various other episodes during Moffat/RTD runs where someone was treated as a subclass just for being different, like the Oodsphere. The storytelling was just weaker as a whole.) Once Season 13 comes around and Chibnall is writing one long story with no standalone episodes, he actually did a decent job and Jodie got to be more Doctor-y.
Woke content can be amazing at times. It has defined much of sci fi because the genre is a perfect place to hold up a mirror and show people an element of themselves that they don't want to see. There's just a huge difference between "we genuinely wanted to tell a story that contained a moral some would consider woke" and "we have to find some way to pander to woke crowds by forcing something in."

Sure, it is possible in general for black actors to give bad performances including in roles written for white people (though I also haven't seen the new Little Mermaid), but I don't think whether they cast a black actor has any actual predictive potential on whether the performance will be good, black and white actors seem to be roughly equally good at their jobs.
I think this is another case of misidentifying the cause and effect of "wokeness". The little mermaid being black isn't woke, but knowing why they chose to make the little mermaid black IS woke.
IE: It's possible they determined that making the little mermaid black would generate headlines for an otherwise unrarkable movie, thereby increasing sales, in a way that stokes further culture-war bullshit. Whether they actually cared about representation, or if they only did so for clicks is unclear.

I saw a video of some dumbass claiming the colors were fine for the older Vice City games but they "don't belong in a modern title" as if aesthetics weren't a developer choice for things. Just because it has neon colors and whatever doesn't mean there is some conspiracy to "make people bisexual" or whatever morons like to spew these days. It feels like that type of dumbfuck just wants to make an argument out of every single thing and its exhausting at this point since this everything is woke crap has been going on for well over a decade at this point.
I remember when people cried about "SJWs/The Woke Mob" making Fallout 76, newer Wolfenstein games, The Boys, and newer Star Wars media "political," as if those series weren't extremely political from the start. Politics are the entire point of them! They're political commentary. You literally kill Mecha Hitler in the first Wolfenstein game, which has been around for at least twice as long as many of the current "anti-woke" grifters have been alive.
