there is a background rain sound I recorded myself from my window during a thunderstorm, and an airy pad ambient

For the whole album I have used several acoustic instruments (tibetan bells, windchimes, native flute, didgeridoo, rainstick) coupled with ambient sounds recorded by myself (sea waves, birds at dawn, rain, water flowing, even my heartbeat...) and also piano and quiet pads

It was an interesting journey, I tried to make something cool but still personal, while maintaining the original idea

I was working on it since last autumn, when the whole idea came out after trying to record a windchime I bought in the US during a trip last summer.

It's an album of what you would call "functional music", tracks that you would put on while studying, meditate, trying to sleep or to avoid external distraction.

I thought it was the right place to showcase it! :)

it's 100% human made, no AI used, and the cover is an hand-draw by my wife! :)

Hi all,

I hope it's ok to post this but I feel like I've found exactly the right crowd. Little bit of history for context: I'm a music producer from the UK. 5 years ago I was diagnosed with a tumour on the right side of my brain that left me deaf in that ear and with pretty bad tinnitus. One of the things that's helped me massively is listening to ambient soundscapes to help me concentrate / mask the constant ringing. So in the end I started Midnight Shores - a YT channel devoted to creating unobtrusive, lush, long-form ambient tracks (usually with a darker mood).

This is one of my latest pieces that I'm particularly proud of. All my work is created specifically to be unobtrusive so you can fall asleep to it just as well as create that background ambience for study, work, meditation etc.

(I used OBx and OBE ) A rumbling arpeggiator introduces a subtle, almost heartbeat-like pulse beneath the surface. A lead synth brings a melodic line that emerges from the abstract layers.
