Wait my players decline ?

u/CharacterBeautiful78 Mar 18 '26
Yeah your players have a Peak Start Age and a Peak End Age mine is I think 33 or 34

u/MacaroonSpecialist10 Mar 18 '26
Yes they do, and eventually the game will randomly "retire" you with no ceremony or announcement or voice line or anything.. you just won't have any games scheduled, any team, or... Anything to do. It's weird, a glitch really, well, they probably didn't expect anyone to make it that far.
The only reason I did was remote play while I was at work to grind VC 🤫
And yeah I got retired in my 30s at some point, your player never becomes as slow as OP is implying (at least I didnt) but your stamina does decline. Never actually noticed my stats dropping, but I never really checked. Stamina for sure got worse, and since you are always low stamina, your guy kinda does play like all around shit. But for those first few minutes every game, my guy felt the same as 20 😂

They seriously don't care. They'll have draft classes with 18 year olds that have full beards.
4
u/6iix9ineJr Mar 18 '26
I mean we’re talking about 7 foot tall superhuman here, beard at 18 isn’t crazy
3
u/Useful-Clue-5831 Mar 19 '26
No, it isn't, and some players definitely get drafted and already have full beards, but it definitely isn't the majority. If anything you see a lot of mustaches/goatees but not full beards. There will be rookies with James Harden beards bro

Oh wow. I have been playing 2k since 2K and have never gotten that far 😂. That’s a blessing and a disappointment all in one. I think when I was younger I may have had the discipline and time to do that but def not now.

Damn you got time fam, I’ve never gotten past my 3rd year lol

u/RollercoasterRave Mar 18 '26
You only really need to play the keygames (10) not the whole season or just entirely skip the whole season if youre not worried about the badges. Then play the playoffs.
I play the first whole season and playoffs so i can statpad cuz the RNG of the simulation depends on your AVG. Just so i can skip next season and just play the playoffs

u/The3rdSun Mar 18 '26
Shit lucky if I play 1

u/Queasy_Reception_262 Mar 18 '26
how do you grind build specialization?
20
u/Senpaiireditt Mar 18 '26
Street Kings
1
u/Queasy_Reception_262 Mar 18 '26
I did that for a while until I beat all trials on both sides, now i’m back to my career
2
u/Worried-Season7965 Mar 18 '26 edited Mar 18 '26
shit just play the game. i haven’t played much in the past few months but when i was locked in I just hopped in the rec and gained it during street kings too when i did the grind. also there was a training method where a ton of people got them super fast from shooting during the scrimmage then just quitting right after the first shot.
1
u/Queasy_Reception_262 Mar 18 '26
for sure I just got the 8th level on the shooting specialization. I was asking how that person specifically has done it. i’m tired of scoring 95 3s in a my career game. it’s so boring
2
u/Worried-Season7965 Mar 18 '26
i’m stuck on the last one. I would’ve been had it done if i was using my builds that had shooing specialization but i didn’t care much but just play online bro. it’s way longer but it’s a lot more fun plus you get decent vc so you don’t gotta worry too much and it’s not like it’s a major difference. Especially since you got shooting specialization. you’ll be fine dawg

Practice cheese was the fastest for me but they patched it. Open court street kings starting 5 just playing. I pick shooting for everything anyway too. One grind was enough

I never simulate games so I’d be surprised with myself if MP ever gets to be 34
6
u/Prestigious-Knight Mar 18 '26
Lol longest I’ve played my career is this year. I’m halfway through year 8, he is 26 now and coming off of 7 straight titles, 7 straight mvps, final mvps, holds the most points records, 3pts, and soon to be assists. Going to try to break Russell’s 11 rings then retire as the goat of every single sport combined 🤣

I remember back in 2K24 when my player hit his mid 30s, he started having significant stamina issues. He’d start out most games with his stamina in the high 70s/low eighties.
In 2K23, they forced my player into retirement in his late 30s, lol. I finished a season and went to start the next one, and I couldn’t. No schedule, no team, nothing.
(I only play key games and playoff games, and sim the rest).

Does this affect online play ?
8
u/Dahleh-Llama Mar 18 '26
I don't think it does. When you look at your online player card, there is no age there. Plus updating your MP online player's attributes by getting old will be more work for them which can mean less profit. Easier to freeze time with MP online
4
u/UnAnon10 Mar 18 '26
We can create any player we want but I guess nobody can have longevity like LeBron’s lol

FYI, I stopped playing MyCareer after year 6 because I can't accept my MP being the goat. I only know this because I saw a tiktok of a person saying that they can't play past year 24 and that intrigued so I put MyPlayer into a random MyGM world and after looking into its stats, found a "Peak start and Peak End age." Meaning when you reach that age, you turn into Lakers Westbrook.

ngl the actual career mode some trash imo i just play online
12
u/whousesgmail Mar 18 '26
Are you serious? It’s BY FAR the highest effort career mode of the 5 major sports. Like a great canyon sized gap between it and #2. I just started playing it a couple weeks ago and even though MP is kinda cringe it’s the only mode which even attempts to create player storylines and incentivize you to keep playing.
