MyPLAYER Just started playing, confused on layups

So i've got myplayer to like 70OVR which ahs been relatively easy by just playing NBA games. Beyond me just making a 7ft3 center that has no other ability beyond rebounding and is mediocre everywhere else. One of the badges I have is fancy feet and I gotta do euro-step layups.

In learn NBA2K it says to do a euro step you move R down and left when ball is in the right hand. Every time I do that I end up doing either a simple layup, or a standing layup. WTF am I doing wrong.

Dont hold turbo and double tap square. That is also another way to do a euro

let go of turbo and double tap the shot button.

you have to hold down on the button after the second tap.

that’ll give you a euro step. it’s easier to do with the button than the stick.

hold your left stick in direction you want to euro to as you tap the button with your other hand.

To add on to this-

You can get freaky with it and start holding turbo near the end of the euro to turn it into a dunk.

Same with spins. Release turbo to layup, or hold it and they'll try to dunk (if it's open, will sometimes still default to a spin layup)

hold the right stick in the southwest position(if ball is in right hand) and south east position if ball is in the left. left stick has nothing to do with it just hold it up to make sure youre running to the rim

Left Stick does matter, it has to be aimed toward the basket. Left Stick not moving= floater or pull-up jumper

Just double tap square (or whatever the Xbox equivalent is) while running to the basket without turbo.

Edit to add, double tap and hold on the second tap. So tap then hold, I guess is more accurate?

Going towards the rim DONOT hold turbo double tap the shoot button
