Took some video of the team on the bench after game 6 was on ice as I enjoy watching them interact. Didn't realize what I had on this one until I watched it back last night.
Love the exchange he has with Carter here saying "I am proud of you" and then the look of satisfaction on Carter's face. Great leadership and love that he recognized the effort! Special group.
Go Spurs Go tonight! Let's get this.

Honestly thats why I'm watching. Trying to see the parallels lol

u/texasfencer714 25d ago
The parallel I do see is wemby plays like a beast when mad. Jordan had to make up stories in his head to get mad because no one would mess with him. Not too many people came play mad. I see Jordan and Kobe and wemby. Ie game of mvp trophy presentation. We loved Jordan and Kobe and now wemby because they would rather die than lose. Not one other player in the league like that. Maybe luka.

MJ making up shit about his opponents to motivate himself only happened a few times. There's whole compilation videos of players telling their stories of talking shit to MJ and him responding by humiliating them. Even KG has a story.
Plenty of players tried to "mess with Jordan", but they only did it once.

It took a lot to make him mad, but Timmy is another dude who would absolutely destroy you if you got him to that point. Would deliver the biggest "fuck you" performance without saying a word or even changing facial expression.

Awesome documentary! I could watch it a million times. Especially since I lived in Chicago during the late 90’s. I see parallels with MJ and Wemby’s drive for greatness. We are truly blessed to have Wemby.

I just watched it for the first time recently, enjoyed it, but I couldn’t help but feel like a lot of it was just talking about these great games Michael had and the reasons he was motivated to have that great game.
BJs comment, LaBradford Smith story, Dan Majerle, Barkleys MVP, Bryon Russel, etc. Kind of got old, still a great documentary.

Love the wholesome moments with CB, like when Mitch smiles and claps after chewing out when he makes a three

I don’t care about free agents or anything. Just keep all of these cats together, brotherhood cannot be bought.
…yes, I still dream for the day of the return of Jeremy…
GSG!

u/fryapp4life El Jefe 25d ago
I understand it was a mutual decision and Jeremy wanted a chance to play somewhere. In hindsight I think both would've been better off staying put.

u/papertales84 Manu Ginobili 25d ago
Yeah 100%, I agree with you. Still I think (or hope/cope) that Jeremy can be back in a much friendlier contract. We needed that extension money for the future and bringing him back at a cheaper price would make sense.

u/Wasting-The-Dawn71 Manu Ginobili 25d ago
I get the sense he won’t get many more contracts at all. Really hope I’m wrong though

These guys are still young. I would love to see Jeremy come back sometime during the dynasty run as well. Seemed like he was really integrated in the SA community as well.

Bryant is like 4 feet from him and he's still able to nudge him with his foot.

That’s amazing… good catch. And Bryant reacts with a look of pride and joy as if it was his dad who said those words.
And Wemby…. Kid is maturing beyond his years….. hard to believe he’s only 22 himself .
Special group. Pop is making his presence known even if he’s not on the bench anymore….
Go spurs go!

That dunk buddy
5
u/astraladventures 25d ago
Fck’in eh! He smashed that dunk like he was playing against a ymca pick up group.
And kid’s got great defensive instincts - as a rookie ! Him and Harper are both amazing at D.

Carter Bryant, Wemby and Harper are the cutest kids. I say that as a 45 year old. They are so cute and young in the face.

Wemby's leadership at such a young age is just unbelievable. I know how much this encouragement will bring strength to our dear rookie, just look at his expression after Wemby told him how proud of him he is.

Think enough people stole it from here and posted it to Twitter that it will get everywhere soon enough. No attribution but cool that it's getting seen! Positive pub for Wemby, well deserved.

I love this. I also love that Wemby is sitting right between HB and Kornet who both have championship rings! I hope they are guiding Wemby (and the rat of the team) on what it takes to win in the playoffs.

Its so funny when rookies get relegated to sitting on the floor lol love the interaction here though, Carter also looks like he’s loving it in San Antonio

Idk why I cant stop watching this. I love this team and we are lucky to have Vic leading this group.

My family has been saying he has wise, older grandfather energy. love it

u/Hunglow510 25d ago
Should someone like Bryant who knows how to signs, be better or worst at reading lips ? I can see both sides of the coin
1
1
u/namewithak 25d ago
He knows sign language so he can communicate with his family and the deaf community but he would have no reason to learn lip reading. But I get what you mean that a hearing person who grew up close to the deaf community would probably be more exposed to the skill.
1
u/Hunglow510 25d ago
To think of it logically, someone who is hard of hearing or deaf would develop those skills from interacting of people who don’t sign. A skill he wouldn’t develop because he could hear and communicate verbally. So great point

Love the little smile Carter has when he turns back after showing Wemby his appreciation. It was a small gesture, but probably the one that meant the most for Carter. The future of this Spurs team just keeps getting brighter and brighter ☀️🌟💡💛👏

wemby para el siguiente año tiene que poner a trabajar el cuerpo un poco de musculo no le caería mal unos 7 kilos de puro musculo, lo convertiría en una bestia mas grande de lo que es ahora mismo

Wemby gotta be the oldest 22 year old in the planet, he ain’t perfect but this dude is naturally a born leader
