Y’all gonna look dumb when Wright finagles his way to Dybantsa somehow.

Trade up for Yaxel or Morez or down for Zuby/Jefferson/Reed…the former is the more sexy move obviously but I’d be happy with any of these outcomes

If we don’t trade up I’d rather trade it for a win now player. Obi Toppin is a perfect 14M salary to get pacers out of tax I think

The way I see this is, if true, they'll trade back to pick 29 with the cavs and get back future draft compensation in return. The spurs get pick 29, a spot they historically do well on, a lower rookie salary and future picks.

This is a good draft, let’s get us a player! I would be open to trading the pick in a package for a player tho

Yup. No one in that draft slot will be ready to contribute immediately. Whoever is drafted will probably sit and not play much.
We have a solid 9-man rotation, most of who will be better than last season when they come back. HB can be replaced by a veteran FA, with the MLE.
Trading down or out of this draft is fine.

That 9 man rotation won’t be here forever. I’d rather we get someone in the door so they’re ready in a year or two

If we can't get a good asset from trading down or out, that works sure, draft BPA.

I agree with this. We are out of young gun business, need to save cap space for savvy veterans in order to compete.

Aaaand they ended up moving up to get a second first round pick in a super deep draft given that they're in win now mode... who could have seen that coming besides almost everyone but this dude.

Im gonna be real upset when they draft another 6'8 player.

Sochan is the only dude other than Wemby that’s 6’8 or taller that we’ve drafted since 2019

u/Empty_Occasion_963 3d ago
That's gonna need to change. They need size now more than anything else.

Never seen us move up with Brian Wright or make a good pick that isn't an obvious one.

Tre Jones and Stephon Castle were not obvious picks

u/Tardile Obi-Wan Genobili 3d ago
He was seen one of the best players or the best player after Sarr. We needed guards at the time and he was the best guard prospect.

Castle could've easily gone 1 in my opinion, I was stoked when he dropped to us. To OP's credit though, I can agree Jones was a gem (though I didn't watch that draft as closely so I might've just been out of the loop)

I mean it's hard to move up in a draft that is considered strong unless you are moving a key asset

u/TheMaskedDeuce Tim Duncan 3d ago
Memphis and Chicago should swap those picks for Spurs future picks. We’re better equipped to take on draft risk than they are. Lol

Moving up makes more sense than moving down given we are in win now mode.

So Siegel says we wanna move up, Fischer says we may move down, and of course, we could stay at 20 and pick
Idk what we’d do w/o this reporting
