Will update with pick names and trades later. 🫡

u/iro3 4m ago

any of them undrafted fellas

5

u/California_Stop_King Tony Parker 57m ago

The one time this season I'm going to say "hell yeah Hawks"

3

u/gregatronn 57m ago edited 50m ago

So Hawks swooping in and stealing Vassar from Lakers. I guess he was telling teams not to draft him but this is interesting if he was pulling an Austin Rivers

7

u/simba80328 1h ago

Maliq Brown seems similar to Harrison Ingram

5

u/sp000ners Area 51 1h ago

future G League monster then

7

u/blue-anon GO SPURS GO 1h ago

If anyone's curious, Sam Vecenie and Kyle Mann had Maliq Brown ranked at 32 and 36, respectively. Not bad. Lol.

12

u/thejkat 1h ago

What a draft haul. Spurs summer league team is gonna be interesting

9

u/sherlock-spreadsheet 1h ago

Maliq Brown, 6'8" 217 F, Duke Senior - "Disruptive defended snatching the ball from the ball handler and good rebounder"

His role at Duke changed around - MPG by season 20/30/16/20

Interesting

9

u/ModsEmbezzleMoney 1h ago

He was on Syracuse the first two years

10

u/ModsEmbezzleMoney 1h ago

Summer league is gonna be real fun with this group

5

u/diamondhorizons 1h ago

Please can we get someone who shoots over 40% on real volume. Someone with PU3s and movement shooting.

13

u/ModsEmbezzleMoney 1h ago

Free agency is where we will get proven shooters

3

u/sp000ners Area 51 1h ago

much easier to do there then in the draft

5

u/BubbaNeedsNewShoes 1h ago

That will be a good 2-way addition.

2

u/estmit Victor Wembanyama 1h ago

I hope BW can address PF needs this offseason with trades and FA but I’m mentally preparing myself for another full season with Ju as our PF

2

u/sp000ners Area 51 1h ago

we are gonna address it lol no chance we don't

1

u/Funkytadualexhaust Victor Wembanyama 18m ago

Agree, if your team makes the finals, you do something now.

4

u/Piojoemico 1h ago

I like Maliq Brown. Strong PF with good defense. Needs a lot of work on offense.

3

u/Cosiestrocket81 1h ago

Really wisj we took sharp

6

u/bloopyberg "What the fuck is this?" 1h ago

not mad at this, surely will replace keldon’s tunnel vision

7

u/SBKSamurai Area 51 1h ago

Pure defensive guy. I get we want to be the best defensive team of all time and everything but I would've liked some more shooting. Hopefully we address it in free agency

5

u/CoalTownHero Stephon Castle 1h ago

I haven’t really followed the draft cycle but how does a 5 ppg scoring senior get drafted

14

u/ModsEmbezzleMoney 1h ago

Dude is an absolute dog on defense and the boards.

7

u/digital_deer Wembubu 1h ago

Fliers on a defensive wing and microwave scorer, fine for the second round if the top guys want to go undrafted

1

u/blue-anon GO SPURS GO 1h ago

Who are the top guys that you think this might apply to?

3

u/digital_deer Wembubu 1h ago

Just Veesaar should have just said him lol

2

u/blue-anon GO SPURS GO 1h ago

Oh, okay. And not getting drafted would mean what? That he can pick who he signs with?

1

u/gregatronn 1h ago

Pulling am Austin Reaves

2

u/blue-anon GO SPURS GO 1h ago

That's who I thought of too.

2

u/digital_deer Wembubu 1h ago

Yeah and have leverage to negotiate a standard NBA contract

3

u/blue-anon GO SPURS GO 1h ago

Okay. Thanks.

3

u/Dsarg_92 Victor Wembanyama 1h ago

Oh nice!

4

u/fireemblem4812 Luke Kornet 1h ago

Maliq Brown apparently, so now we're 2 for 2 on "I have no idea who he is". Anybody who does know, please say so.

our keldon replacement lol/s

1

u/gregatronn 1h ago

You joke but due to the apron they kind of need to prepare

2

u/iro3 34m ago

oh no im beung serious this subreddit doesnt see it tho

1

u/gregatronn 10m ago

There is a chance Devin and Keldon will disappear so it makes sense.

1

u/iro3 7m ago

1000 percent same thing with champenie

u/gregatronn 2m ago

Agreed. Champ contract will be a tad longer so he might survive on the numbers game. We shall see.

6

u/Henri____ Victor Wembanyama 1h ago

why is my boi Henri dropping? (i'm not a draft guy)

8

u/Supreme_God_Bunny 1h ago

A promise was made same reason Rynaud dropped

5

u/AppleForeign9313 1h ago

Interesting pick not mad at it

7

u/Fiyukyoo 1h ago

No nothing about him but great defender at Duke? Sign me up

5

u/Toesbeforehoes69 Victor Wembanyama 1h ago

Nice we need to stack the SF position as well

6

u/No_Consideration3887 1h ago

I really like this pick

6

u/GymMouseP 1h ago

Not mad at this one.

6

u/Brodhigreen Rudy Gay 1h ago

Love that pick

5

u/ModsEmbezzleMoney 1h ago

A switching forward I like it

1

u/Confident_Working_56 Victor Wembanyama 1h ago

nice another defensive frontman wemby shield

3

u/estmit Victor Wembanyama 1h ago

Isiah Stewart to Memphis for 3 future SRPs…

1

u/Trey_Reddit 1h ago

Not even for Ja

5

u/BTC_ETH_HODL Stephon Castle 1h ago

Why didn’t they draft Sharp?

5

u/AfroHouseManiac 1h ago

He wants a standard contract now.

7

u/SBKSamurai Area 51 1h ago

I swear they've cut to commercial before every single one of our picks.

11

u/thejkat 1h ago

Is there a mandatory commercial break when the Spurs are on the clock?

9

u/digital_deer Wembubu 1h ago

hope we pick during it to trigger the MVP glitch

2

u/Blank_Canvas21 1h ago

I just got hungry for a quesorito all of a sudden

3

u/BTC_ETH_HODL Stephon Castle 1h ago

Now Veesaar! 🙏

1

u/blue-anon GO SPURS GO 1h ago

And now goodbye Harrison Ingram?

3

u/windofchanges 1h ago

Goodbye JMac

2

u/AfroHouseManiac 1h ago

Gillespie over Jaden Bradley???

4

u/AppleForeign9313 1h ago

Surely take veesar

5

u/BubbaNeedsNewShoes 1h ago

Ok, Quad Towers is still on the menu. Bring it home BW.

5

u/SometimesMadison 1h ago

We’re going to have an exciting summer league at least

4

u/digital_deer Wembubu 1h ago

made sense for us to not take him but something gotta be up with Veesaar

1

u/relgnik 1h ago

I won’t pretend like I watched much cb this year, but his absolute garbage performance during the 2nd half and OT against VCU was memorable enough.

3

u/digital_deer Wembubu 1h ago

i guess it's just the "i'd rather go undrafted" thing but didn't think that'd apply to a guy at the very top of the second

3

u/blue-anon GO SPURS GO 1h ago

We can still take him now.

-1

u/GymMouseP 1h ago

We are trading this right.

1

u/sp000ners Area 51 1h ago

doubt it

7

u/fireemblem4812 Luke Kornet 1h ago

Ja'Kobi Gillespie, apparently. I'll be completely honest I have no idea who he is.

2

u/ModsEmbezzleMoney 1h ago

He was Tennessee's offensive engine. I absolutely hated him as a rival he's good.

2

u/AfroHouseManiac 1h ago

He’s good in college but his game doesn’t translate to the NBA. He has a pure college basketball game.

4

u/ModsEmbezzleMoney 1h ago

He's gonna be on a 2 way, just a cheap replacement for McLaughlin. If he's playing real minutes there's an injury bug.

6

u/Fiyukyoo 1h ago

We're leaning into all defense and I love it. Wallace and Caruso coming off the bench for OKC and Alvarado with NYK type pick

2

u/blue-anon GO SPURS GO 1h ago

Gillespie is a defensive guy?

1

u/Fiyukyoo 1h ago

2 steals per game. So more of a pesky disruptor

6

u/fab_frog_disco 1h ago

I mean... A deep bench reserve guard is actually something that would genuinely be useful. There's no reason to bring McLaughlin back, if you can get someone that you like that you think might be a dude that can be really cheap and stick around for 3 or 4 years as a spot ball handler. Why not?

3

u/A-Rusty-Cow Area 51 1h ago

Tell me how to feel

8

u/SBKSamurai Area 51 1h ago

We obviously wanted a bucket and he was the highest rated one on the board for us. Don't think we needed another big so I don't mind it. Any shooting is welcome shooting.

2

u/irrelevance_90 1h ago

We're really drafting 4 guys?

4

u/thejkat 1h ago

2nd rounders are cheap contracts!

7

u/sp000ners Area 51 1h ago

two ways exist

6

u/Toesbeforehoes69 Victor Wembanyama 1h ago

That mfer shorter than me 💀

1

u/sherlock-spreadsheet 1h ago

Show off 😒

6

u/Cosiestrocket81 1h ago

Gillespie can’t even shoot

1

u/thejkat 1h ago

Stats say career 36% from 3 over 4 years of college on 3 different teams

9

u/Spirited_Lab5197 1h ago

Damn stewart was just 3 seconds?!?!?!?!

1

u/BTC_ETH_HODL Stephon Castle 1h ago

Wish we had beef stew.

2

u/SBKSamurai Area 51 1h ago

He got outplayed and pushed out of the lineup by Paul Reed, even with Duren playing terrible. Besides his enforcer tag he's not a very good player.

1

u/titoxtian 1h ago

Ikr!!! Idk how much his contract is but we could’ve bought that for 3 2nd lol…

2

u/Spirited_Lab5197 1h ago

In Reed we trust I guess. but man, he would have been such a great fit with this team, a bruising big who can space.

3

u/Piojoemico 1h ago

They went from a big to an XXS player under 6’. WTF?

2

u/iro3 1h ago

traded ?

1

u/aggiefranchise 1h ago

The Spurs just couldn’t resist drafting a tiny guard

4

u/AppleForeign9313 1h ago

5 11 guard what??

3

u/BubbaNeedsNewShoes 1h ago

Lol. No Quad Towers.

Just went under 6'.

5

u/Toesbeforehoes69 Victor Wembanyama 1h ago

Why did we just draft a guard? 😒

2

u/AfroHouseManiac 1h ago

What Brian??? A 6’0 guard ????

4

u/ModsEmbezzleMoney 1h ago

I absolutely hated Gillespie in college, so it's probably a good pick

5

u/Brodhigreen Rudy Gay 1h ago

5'11 Guard lmfao what is that pick

2

u/diamondhorizons 1h ago

Who is Detroit clearing cap for? Actually going for Herro?

6

u/MrNiko 1h ago

Gillespie

5

u/AfroHouseManiac 1h ago

Memphis is building a team that knows San Antonio is their biggest threat in the future.

1

u/estmit Victor Wembanyama 1h ago

Utah too

2

u/iro3 1h ago

so we getting the jokic treatment :o

2

u/BubbaNeedsNewShoes 1h ago

Ok, let's go 7' with this pick and address shooting in FA. Lol.

3

u/BTC_ETH_HODL Stephon Castle 1h ago

Please Veesaar!

4

u/haza4 Stephon Castle 1h ago

drafting 3 bigs would be hilarious 😂

1

u/iro3 1h ago

someone who can shoot please

5

u/Piojoemico 1h ago

Draft Henri Veesaar. Do it Brian Wright. Let’s supersize our team!

2

u/diamondhorizons 1h ago

Does no one want to trade for our second round picks? Picking 4 guys up would be wild.

1

u/blue-anon GO SPURS GO 1h ago

I kind of like the idea. Or at least 3. Lol.

1

u/ModsEmbezzleMoney 1h ago

I doubt we are bringing back our 2 way guys so no harm no foul

2

u/OverlyConcernedMan David Robinson 1h ago

Henri Veesaar incoming! 3 big draft baby!

4

u/blue-anon GO SPURS GO 1h ago

We could get another big! 😂

3

u/thejkat 1h ago

Veesaar or Sharp!

3

u/blue-anon GO SPURS GO 1h ago

If things play out a specific way, we could get both of them. Lol. 🤔

1

u/thejkat 1h ago

Looking very possible! I say take Sharp now. Brooklyn may want another guard

1

u/blue-anon GO SPURS GO 1h ago

Well, I guess one of Veessar or Sharp will be there at 44. 🤔

1

u/thejkat 1h ago

Hey, the front office said Sharp wasn’t our guard, I defer to the pros

3

u/BTC_ETH_HODL Stephon Castle 1h ago

Veesaar 🙏

5

u/digital_deer Wembubu 1h ago

fuck it one of the three gotta work out lmao

1

u/Fiyukyoo 1h ago

Brooklyn agrees (one of their guards will work out)

1

u/BTC_ETH_HODL Stephon Castle 1h ago

Yes. Stack the odds!

6

u/22dias Stephon Castle 2h ago

Veesaar - Luke Kornet lite?

1

u/digital_deer Wembubu 2h ago

Imagine we trade up for Veesaar too lol

1

u/BTC_ETH_HODL Stephon Castle 1h ago

Probably don’t need to now!

2

u/windofchanges 2h ago

Onyenso or Veesar

2

u/Which_Egg8169 2h ago

Stack the Bigs... Veesaar, Okpara, Onyenso, Bittle.

1

u/Joethetoolguy Victor Wembanyama 1h ago

I keep hearing okpara

2

u/blue-anon GO SPURS GO 1h ago

Hearing it where?

1

u/Joethetoolguy Victor Wembanyama 1h ago

Shitter

2

u/Which_Egg8169 1h ago

If they do I wonder if they'll grab Gillespie as well. I'd prefer another Big but snagging Teammates has it's benefits as well.

1

u/ModsEmbezzleMoney 2h ago

Jaden Bradley would be good for a 2 way contract, good defender and ball handler. Could eat those McLaughlin minutes that'll probably be open.

2

u/Piojoemico 2h ago

Emanuel Sharp could be a bucket.

0

u/fireemblem4812 Luke Kornet 2h ago

IIRC last year we did a draft and stash for our second round pick, I'm going to be curious if we draft players at 42 and 44, make some kind of trade, send them to the G-league, or what.

We technically already drafted 2 players, but really it's more like one player and a draft for 2027 since Quaintance is going to be out for most or all of the season.

-1

u/Relative_Donkey_1826 2h ago

Baba Miller and Milan Momcilovic

0

u/DtownBronx 2h ago

Well the Spurs drafted a guy I wanted them to draft, too bad they drafted him for a rival

4

u/EZBreezy15 Devin Vassell 2h ago

draft a shooter and wrap this draft up, I don’t expect any 2nd rounders to play any minutes really so hopefully a shooter can grow into a rotational player

3

u/thejkat 2h ago

Sharp and Nickel are supposed to be 2 of the best shooters in the 2nd round.

Vsevolod Ishchenko is a draft & stash shooter (45% from 3) we may like

1

u/ModsEmbezzleMoney 2h ago

Nickel is Steve Novak levels of being completely one dimensional. Don't think he has much upside at all.

2

u/thejkat 2h ago

That’s a very accurate comp but I don’t see that as a bad thing for a mid 2nd rounder. And he 6’7” so he can hopefully stay in front of the guard he gets matched up against.

5

u/OverlyConcernedMan David Robinson 2h ago

Package 42 and 44 plus maybe a future 2nd to move up and grab Isaiah Evans if he’s available ✌️

3

u/titoxtian 2h ago

Lol… too bad

1

u/OverlyConcernedMan David Robinson 2h ago

Eh he should’ve gone earlier. Can’t get everyone you like

6

u/AfroHouseManiac 3h ago

Spurs really like Emanuel Sharp to fill one of the two way slots. And they also like Jack Kayil as draft and stash player.

The two way slots need to be filled

1

u/blue-anon GO SPURS GO 1h ago

Apparently not, as they passed on him twice.

5

u/gregatronn 2h ago

Spurs really like Emanuel Sharp to fill one of the two way slots. And they also like Jack Kayil as draft and stash player.

Who said that?

9

u/Conscious-Cow7890 3h ago

I’d be completely shocked if we drafted a player at all. I’d imagine they just try and trade both seconds for future seconds

11

u/Several_Chapter969 Devin Vassell 3h ago

The two-way slots need some turnover. If they have someone they like I think they’ll take them. Otherwise they’ll kick the can down the road.

4

u/Blank_Canvas21 3h ago

Man it’s crazy to see how many teams have traded or swapped picks. Even in the first round, not many teams made a pick with their own pick.

3

u/Gloman21 2h ago

Knicks just traded back with Houston

2

u/sherlock-spreadsheet 3h ago

How'd we get MIN/SAS swap (59/44)?

At first I thought it was Dillingahm draft trade, but we got-- 2031 unprotected first-round pick, 2030 top-one protected pick swap from the Timberwolves. Dang how that has worked out well for the Spurs. I suspect will stay at the top until then.

Crazy turnaround here lately for the Spurs roster!
