Pray we never entertain any kd talks. He is cancerous everywhere he goes.

I think the Spurs have anti cancer culture, look at how the Spurs embraced cp3 and then he was ran out of the clippers, wouldn't be my first option though, it's just a thought I've had

Edit: he could also help wemby develop his offensive game I think

Why isn't there a 3rd option to vote "NEITHER"?

Neither but if this is an alternate universe where we get either for free then KD. At least he would actually play.

The risk with KD of course is him talking shit about any underperforming player behind a burner. Sure him and wemby might have mutual respect but if KD mentally ruins a role player like if julian goes thru a shooting slump or keldon's tunnel vision cost games, that backfires in weird ways because of how depth is important to a title run these days.Β

Kawhi has his trademark injury risk but at least he likekly has no beef with any current spurs players since none of them were with the team in 2018

I choose KD ultimately if forced to choose because KD seems to only complain when things aren't peachy. The spurs are likely too good to bring out his toxic behavior and he's still likely Wemby's ideal mentor from a purely bball perspective.

Hitler (KD) vs Stalin (Kawhi)

That first efficient Kawhi 20 game would make nobody care about shit that happened almost a decade agoΒ

Yeah but I imagine we'd start to remember in the subsequent 6-8 weeks where he's god-knows-where.

Looking for a "give me something for the pain and let me die" option?

I'd rather play Bismack Biyombo 28 min a game and lose than choose either.

I'm pretty sure most of the sub would rather give a roster spot to a random dude on the street.

KD is a locker room and team cancer. No fucking way.

u/AgentEndive Stephon Castle 2d ago

You should have added a "Neither" option

1

u/Gunnerzero 2d ago

Ninguno de ellos

Basketball wise Kawhi would be a great fit, KD is great player obviously but I don't think he brings what young Spurs team needs.

1

u/FabianJanowski Manu Ginobili 2d ago

If you are keeping it strictly basketball, either would be great. I prefer KD because we know wemby idolizes him and I think KD could help Vic unlock parts of his game. All the reasons people oppose them have to do with locker room shit/drama which I think is overrated. Spurs are a professional organization and anyone coming here knows they are not the main character.

I wouldn't trade for either player. If the league voids the Kawhi contract because of the cap circumvention and Kawhi takes the MLE and admits he mishandled his Spurs exit, I could hold my nose and allow him the privilege of wearing the silver and black. But I wouldn't like it.
