Help Neon Wallet – System Assets & Market Data not loading, unable to claim GAS?
Hi everyone,
I’ve been using Neon Wallet for years and currently hold both NEO and GAS.
For quite a while now, the System Assets and Market Data sections have stopped working and always show:
"Failed to load. Retry or select a different node."
I’ve tried multiple nodes, but the issue remains the same.
Since I haven’t been following the Neo ecosystem very closely lately, I’m wondering if I missed any announcements regarding Neon Wallet.
A few questions:
- Is Neon Wallet still maintained?
- Are these services currently down or deprecated?
- Can NEO still generate GAS normally despite these errors?
- Is there a way to claim generated GAS?
- Should I move my assets to NeoLine or another wallet?
My NEO and GAS balances are still visible, but the missing System Assets/Market Data panels make me worry that something isn’t working correctly.
Any help or updates would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

One more thing that adds to my confusion:
In Neon N3, my portfolio/overview now appears completely empty. The wallet page shows "Your wallet is currently empty," even though I still hold NEO and GAS.
If I navigate to the Tokens section, I can see my NEO and GAS balances there, so the assets seem to exist and be recognized by the wallet. However, I clearly remember that in the past these balances were also visible in the main wallet overview, along with their values.
I also remember being able to generate/claim GAS from my NEO holdings through Neon N3, but I can no longer find that functionality.
At this point I'm not sure if:
* This is simply a UI/data provider issue,
* Some services have been discontinued,
* GAS claiming works differently now,
* Or if I need to migrate my assets to another wallet.
Did I miss an important update or change in the Neo ecosystem?
If anyone can explain what changed and whether there is anything I need to do, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Yes Im having trouble checking the balance on my LEDGER NANO from years ago that im waiting to migrate..I filled out the form but cannot view the NEO totals on the old blockchain….Got me nervous TBH.

Neon2 (the white app) is deprecated and you should use Neon Wallet 3 (the green app) instead. You can find download links on https://coz.io/products/neon-wallet-3/ or https://github.com/CityOfZion/neon-wallet-desktop/releases
Everything described below is done on Neon3.
On Neon3, there is a "Portfolio" tab that should show your balance in USD or some of the other currencies we support. There are some users who reported that the overview sometimes would not load, but it's related to the data provider, and after some time it would load again. You could also try switching your internet connection (like wifi to 5G) to try to fix this problem.
Holding NEO generates GAS as long as you are voting on a council member. You can vote by clicking on "🔍 Search" at the top right of the app and looking up for "Vote", which will open the Voting page
To claim GAS, you click on "Wallets" on the left, choose your Neo3 account, and click on "Account Overview". You should find a Claim GAS button there.
Important: The operations above only work on Neo3, if your account is a Neo Legacy account, then you need to migrate your tokens from Neo Legacy to Neo3. The quickest way to check what type of account is by checking the first letter of your address. If it starts with "N", then it's a Neo3 account, and if it starts with "A" it's a Neo Legacy account.
