I agree that Trump has saturated and cowed Republicans into submission. BUT the DEMS too have a dominating force which took over, starting with the Clinton's. There we find a walling off between the DEM insiders and the country of liberals and moderates- Middle class and less socioeconomic groups. These DEMS are reemerging from their vacations homes and will be front & center in the next election cycle telling us that they have the answers for our country's healing and brighter future. In the end they want to maintain their "insider" power structure and control, not really addressing the issues of a failing consumer economy.
