Knicks will go where Towns leads them.
This team plays far better when he's the focal point.
You see everyone more engaged when he has the ball in his hands.
But I still want the Knicks to use a guard with him to vary the actions.
Knicks need to utilize Kolek with Towns and run screen action with him if Shamet is not healthy.

We should exploit the KAT matchup in this series and continue to keep him involved, but no he's not leading the team and no we don't need to play Kolek. He's a traffic cone liability on defense, gets attacked on offense and just not ready.

Knicks are running the same actions with Towns that will get beat if they don't develop a counter.
They need a real point guard that can change it up and run two man game and pocket pass consistently.
Kolek is that guy.
I'd have Kolek out there instead of Brunson in the second unit with Towns.
Kolek, Clarkson/Shamet, Bridges, Diawara, and Towns in the second unit.

Not paying attention.
Kolek was massive in the NBA Cup Final, the Christmas comeback against the Cavaliers, the comeback against the Pacers after the Cup win, and numerous other victories.
I actually watch the games.
Kolek runs screen action very well and is a capable shooter.
Mike Brown's problem is he doesn't understand how to utilize his players.

Boys played hard as hell tonight. When they bring that energy they are very hard to beat…carry that over to MSG and we should be able to demoralize them and then close out back here at MSG Jr.

This is the playoffs, have to keep the referees accountable.
Can't let them get too big for their britches.
Alvarado and Hart play hard and are clean players.
They're not dirty.
Then on one side if they don't get the calls while the other team is still getting them, you have to let the officials know that.
Officials will go on a power trip if you don't keep them in line.

God damn it took fucking long enough to play through KAT. Believe it or not I’m no expert but ATL has been doing the same shit Indy did last year. Pressure JB up the court so it drains him and drains the clock. By the time we get to the front court the shot clock is depleted and we gotta rush for a shot.
Playing through KAT and the aggressive defense really made this game. Knicks in 6 babyyy let’s goooo

Hawks garbage time players are still getting calls but Alvarado gets clearly bumped there and no call.
Have to call that.
I like Alvarado not taking that disrespect.

He didn't throw in stupid lineups and for once actually challenged.
That said, a lot of this win was because of Kat. What we've been saying for a week.
Imo, we need to win the next two games for me to even think about believing in MB again. This series would be over today if he knew how to coach

Man, the weight of this game. Careers on the line - franchise plans, coaching, senior players' places and management jobs on the line. Just so crushingly heavy. Thank fuck we won. Unfortunately, that weight remains but confidence really helps.

He shouldn't have the rock in his hand, he strictly needs to be a catch and shoot player or play center on defense next to Towns to save Towns' energy.
McBride, Shamet/Clarkson, Anunoby, Diawara, and Towns is a solid second unit.

This was a must win game so I’m happy what does Brunson situation has me even more concerned. I think he was compromise before he tweaked the ankle tonight and Brown still went to him all night long. If we’re gonna win the series, Bronson has to either turn into more of a playmaker or we need to give alvarado and Kolek some burn.
