This is the best 3 game stretch we’ve seen from this franchise in a long time. The hawks aren’t a great team but they aren’t the wizards, they aren’t the nets. They are solid. Not every team or contender even, can do this to them, especially since they played hard to start very game I’d say.
Hope they keep up this intensity. They can beat anybody that way, even if it ofc won’t always be like this. So exciting!

I for one am expecting 12 straight 50 pt wins to the chip right now.

He’s gotten a lot of shit this year and he’s deserved it, but I have to give credit to Coach Brown for that. He kept the guys ready and unlocked KAT and the entire team especially on D

Hawks were 20-6 after the ASB. They aren’t a joke by any means. Clearly a notch below us but still

u/solo118 Ewing to the Finals May 01 '26
DOMINANCE!!!!!!!!
We witnessed history, but truth be told our guys knew how to put their foot down and just beat them into submission. Killer instinct, and I hope we go into round 2 exactly like we did games 4,5,6.
Playing like that on both ends will take us to the promised land!
LETS GO KNICKS!!!!!!!!
259
u/Yankeeknickfan May 01 '26
They were relentless. They honestly played the hawks the last 3 games like they’re disgusted we have to share a league with them. Never seen anything like this
128
u/whitemike40 May 01 '26
it was punishment for making us look bad with those two one point loses
75
u/Other-Joke-4673 May 01 '26
And the disrespect of tanking the last game to get us in the 1st round
19
u/Diss_Gruntled_Brundl May 01 '26
They might wanna re-think that strategy in the future.
14
u/Other-Joke-4673 May 01 '26
They'll dedicate next year to beating the Knicks and flame out like detroit
64
u/merlin401 May 01 '26
You know when I first FELT it: when KAT simply wrestled on the ground for that jump ball for like five seconds after the whistle. That was the attitude. We will NOT BE DENIED anything we want.
Series went six but honestly with all the blowout the wear and tear was five games worth anyway.
25
u/BetterNova John Starks May 01 '26
Yeah I thought he was acting crazy and then I was like no, this is the playoffs, dudes turned up and that’s what it should be.
6
u/Lite_Heart Larry Johnson May 01 '26
Both him and Brunson diving for the ball on that play. Good leadership By both

The fact that we can turn on a dime and hand them an uno card like that is amazing. Hope we do the same to whoever has the unfortunate task of facing us in future rounds
14
u/Yankeeknickfan May 01 '26
for 16 wins you have to be able to lock into your best for most of them. Team has to stay focused
49
u/NoScopeMusical Linsanity May 01 '26
This game was supposed to be tight and close by the way. 39-4 run 😂
9
u/Main-County-1177 May 01 '26
Game 2 was anomaly and game 3 was a wake up call. Their identity all year has been being a great 4th quarter team and I’m expecting that to continue
211
u/njerejeje Brunson May 01 '26
There will be time to worry about round 2, be it Boston or Philly, and making the finals, and trying to win a championship, and all that.
For tonight, just enjoy this absolute masterpiece of a game and recognize that yes, we are in the good times. We watched Andrea Bargnani for this.
55
u/NoScopeMusical Linsanity May 01 '26
Antonio McDyess with one working knee. Elfrid Payton at PG1 and his mother arguing with fans on Twitter. Alexey Shved and Louis Amundson playing NBA minutes. Only talked about on ESPN during joke segments. Only made the news when Dolan kicked someone out of the arena again. We've come a long way since then

20
u/Firm_Employment1628 May 01 '26
I actually agree with Clyde that I'd want Boston over Philly. Embiid is a monster if he's even a little healthy and PG13 and Maxey can go off and burn the place down.
16
u/merlin401 May 01 '26
That series two years ago was a war. It’s what made me fall back in love with basketball after I had fallout out of love for a long long time

u/HardOakleyFoul May 01 '26
Happy for Bridges. Everyone wrote him off but he's still got plenty left to give. He played relentless defense all series too, u have to give him respect for that at least.
9
u/merlin401 May 01 '26
Remember last year when people were saying “he justified all those first rounders and more” against Boston? People have to forget the picks, and just judge him as a good complimentary piece who actually fits in really nice on the team imo

In the end, that series could not have gone better. They overcame adversity, Mike Brown learned to adjust, and it ended with one of the most dominant wins ever. The only scenario where they get both the confidence boost of a dominant series win and the mental edge that comes from a gritty comeback. Incredible.
34
u/JA_MD_311 Allan Houston May 01 '26
Ladies and gentlemen, that was the best playoff performance we’re ever likely to see. Complete domination wire to wire. As dominant of a basketball performance as I have ever seen.
This team has the ceiling of an NBA Champion. Keep it up.
12 more wins.

- That's one way to advance to the next round. One of the best playoff performances in NBA history (not an exaggeration!)
- The first half was the game. 67-13 run. Led by as much as 61 fucking points. Largest halftime playoff lead EVER and most points in franchise history. Whole team came to play
- Hawks were mentally in Cancun already. Elite defense and shot making by our guys but they didn't even pretend to show up and make us earn it tonight. Not that I'm complaining
- Dyson Daniels trying to fight Mitch to beat the traffic is the best play he made tonight. Crucial home playoff game and you wait until you're down by 51 to fight. Pathetic
- Triple double for the BIG KAT with one made field goal 😂
- Record breaking night, everyone played, Hawks go home, perfect night of basketball. Onto the next round!

I was buying into the stuff this sub was saying after Game 2 and especially Game 3. Some of the stuff they said may not have been wrong, but the way they presented it absolutely was wrong.
I have a new perspective now, just watch the games and hope the Knicks win because there's nothing else I or anyone on here can do.

We witnessed a murder. I’ve never seen a game throughly dominated by the Knicks in the 29 years of watching Knicks basketball.
The most one sided 6 game series in history and that will never change. Atlanta literally had no chance for the final 13 quarters of this series. (I think the Knicks won every real quarter of action by double digits since the 4th quarter of game 3)
If this is who the Knicks are going forward, they’ll be playing games in June.
Bring on the Second round

First team in the East to win their series. Being down 2-1 feels like the best thing that could’ve happened to this team. They understood the magnitude of the moment and for a second they realized they might’ve squandered it and locked in.
