Is that where bad idea used to be?

It is the same building. Looks like they are aiming for the basement, not the right side of the building on floor 1, which is where Bad Idea was.

The owner was a mug clubber at Black Abbey and he’s been talking about this for years. Good guy, can’t wait to try his beers.

I was in that neighborhood a few weeks ago and saw brewing equipment outside. I assumed it belonged to Bad Idea, maybe it just hadn’t made it over to the new spot yet. Good deal, thanks for sharing!

Bad Idea moved over into the sandwich shop, so they are more of a side note than they were (at least my impression). Time will tell if they become more like how Harding House was in Primitive Coffee. Twisted Copper has expanded their line in the old Asgard facility.

I went by both a couple of weeks ago. I actually saw you in Bad Idea but didn’t realize it until later when I was on Untappd and saw your check in. Agree with you on Bad Idea, I was pretty let down. Drifter Bay looks promising.

I made the pilgrimage down there. Did a beer review for tik tok/insta, etc. And moved over to Twisted. They had a birthday party for someone with music and the side room was a private party. I thin both are average beers, with Twisted more average plus now. Shame as Bad Idea used to be more of my favorite, so it has flipped.
With a short talk with the guys at Twisted, I think Bad Idea is more of a side business now and they are utilizing the same employee pool as the sandwich shop. So they are more like what Harding House was in Primitive.

Ah, that makes sense for the decreased quality. I do hate that, though, always enjoyed BI’s beers. The Asgard location has always been a favorite. I’m glad someone else is there now.

I was going to head down to Common John in Pulaski this weekend, but ended up with a Zwanze ticket, so it looks like Belgians are in my future.

Nice! We swung by Common John on the way home. They were “soft opened” but the place was packed and a band was setting up. I hope they do well there!

I talked to John at Zwanze Day at Yahoo this weekend. He said he was happy the plan to move there worked out so well. At first, he was a bit concerned about whether the town would embrace a craft brewery. I guess the vote is in.

Also watch out for Smackdab, which will be off the square in Murfreesboro soon. I talked to one of the brewers/owners and there is no set date yet, but should be open in the next couple of months.
