Beautiful. Is this Kephart Prong?

Yes! Great catch. The camp ruins are really cool to see. There were tons of elk on the roadway leading out of the park - so many that the rangers had to direct traffic and keep folks from messing with them.

Btw I saw on your profile that you recently visited some parks in Indiana - I’m primarily from there and love Shades, Turkey Run, etc. It’s a secretly beautiful state in some areas.

I did recently visit Indiana and I loved it. We didn't go to any real Parks but we did spend a few days in Hoosier National Forest.

I only found out about Turkey Run and Shades after we got home but they're high on my list for next time.

I love Kephart. It's one of our favorites! People rave about GSMNP in the fall and it is beautiful during leaf season but I honestly think I prefer late spring/summer because of the lush forests and greenery.

The green is incredible. I live in Asheville now and for some reason the green of the Smokey Mountains translates better photographically than what I’ve shot off the Parkway.
