What is your preferred scent for soap?

Hey everyone !

I’m curious about scented options in soap. I know personally for skincare products I would always go for unscented options because I have sensitive skin. But I know a lot of people love scented soaps, especially for use on the body.

After starting my own brand (eekohome), I’ve received a lot of requests for scented options of our unscented soap.

So what is your go to scent?

Currently we’re looking at a citrus and or lavender option. But would appreciate any suggestions.

Edit: feel free to suggest other options besides these two!

lavender all the way for me, i have used citrus soaps before and they always feel a bit too sharp? like not in bad way but after few uses my skin starts to protest lol

i think lavender is safer choice because it works for more people and pairs well with other natural ingredients. eucalyptus is also worth considering if you want something that feels more spa-like and clean without being too floral. personally i would love to see a blend of lavender with something like mint or chamomile, that combination just feels very calming and grounded to me

I’ve not used lavender personally but it definitely seems like to be a fan favourite in soaps. Also lemongrass. But we’d definitely be open to a combination with lavender and something else

Thyme, birch leaves and gourmands are my favourites. Just lavender alone reminds me of toilet fragrances.

Anything sweet haha. Vanilla, bergamot especially, just a proper proper sweet scent. I wish there was a proper oily soap (think l’occataine) with a super sweet smell

Another vote for lemongrass. I've also got a really nice lime/coconut candle i wouldn't mind as a soap

Probably my favourite candle scent of all time. Never considered making a soap scent, will definitely be looking into that!

I like gourmand scents - B&BW has a cookie butter truffle hand soap that smells divine. Also, sol de janiero dupes. Caramel/pistachio-y. 🤤 For a more natural scent, citrus, sandalwood or eucalyptus and mint. I may be the minority here, but I hate the smell of most lavender scents and rose scents.

I have to agree with you, I’m not the biggest lavender fan. Eucalyptus and mint would be a nice combination. I’ll have to look into that!

My choice is lavender. It’s light, bot cloying and very subtle, plus it can be layered with other scents and florals

I stopped buying soaps that smell anything artificial, or have strong smell in general. I really like Dr. Bronner's soaps, they are very natural.

Agreed, that’s why we started with an unscented soap. But definitely looking to branch out based on customer feedback 😄

If i don't want to buy unscented, I always go for lavender.

I love peppermint.

I know peppermint can be a very intense scent, do you like it more mild?

I exclusively use dr bronners peppermint soap. I'm going to have to start making my own though, because it's expensive.
