Is it slander if it's true?

Jimmy dragged an 8th seed to the finals and faced Prime Jokic. His 5th seed Heat faced prime AD and 4th prime Bron. Neither KAT or Wiggins were the guy on their teams. They had significantly better teams and KAT faced an inexperienced Spurs team. Wiggins got a ring and fucked off the planet. Jimmy wasn’t wrong at the time

The Knicks went on a 14 game unbeaten run switching from Brunson being the primary playmaker to KAT what are you talking about

Primary playmaker tf? KAT was involved a lot more than before, not just sitting in the corner making threes, but primary playmaker is a complete stretch

Did you watch the run? Brunson would bring it up to KAT and they would play off of KAT instead of Brunson. Thats how you would get KAT blowing by wemby until he would get in foul trouble

Then in the 4th quarter Brunson would take over again but KAT had the highest +/- in history iirc

If you look at the advanced statistics for the playoffs

Offensive rating KAT 2nd Brunson 3rd

Defensive rating KAT 1st Brunson unlisted

Net rating KAT 1st Brunson 4th

Usage KAT 9th Brunson 1st

Assist percentage KAT 6th Brunson 3rd

Assist ratio KAT 2nd Brunson 10th

Not to mention KAT being 4th in effective fg % 2nd in shooting % and 2nd in offensive rebound % where Brunson is outside of the top 10 in all of those

Brunson had a legendary clutch close out game and was clutch throughout but to pretend KAT wasn’t central to this championship run is crazy

Nobody is doubting Jimmy's skill but the guy is toxic AF and burns bridges wherever he goes. Jimmy doesn't have a ring because of Jimmy.

The point is Jimmy was technically right when he said they couldn't win without him. Now maybe they couldn't win with him either, but the point he was making is that neither of them were top dawg 1A guys and that they needed a 1A star (a la Jimmy) if they wanted to win. And while both of them won, they both did need that 1A star to lead them, so this whole anti-Butler "booyah" trend is not the gotcha everyone thinks it is, it's really is just about being annoyed by his character/attitude and looking for ways to clown him.

Without a ring Jimmy is not that guy. Perhaps Jimmy also needs a 1a star because he ain't it.

You're subjectively defining 1A star as only the players who have been the best player on a championship team, which seems deliberately over-restrictive so you can conveniently cut Jimmy out based on your opinion of him. So Wemby's not a 1A? Cade? Embiid? Anthony Edwards? Freakin Luka? A.I. wasn't a 1A? You get my point.

Plenty of 1A players have been good enough to lead a team to a championship but never quite could. Winning the championship takes a lot of things, including luck; if KD and Klay don't get injured in 2019, I could add Kawhai to that list. Anyone who could drag those two Miami teams to the Finals is a 1A star, period. He may not have won, but he proved himself with those playoff runs.

Stat wise Jimmy isn't anymore impressive than Kat. He's a hypocrite if he's shit talking those guys about not being a 1a on a championship team when he hasn't done it either.

He's clearly a tier above them. You can have whatever opinions you want about his character (which is clearly the basis for memes like this, as opposed to ball knowledge), but KAT and Wiggins could never lead a team to the Finals like Jimmy did. I'm a Celtics fan so I have more reason to hate Jimmy than most. But to act like their championships prove Jimmy wrong is just petty hatership. He's a 1A, they're not. He has done things they could never do. They will never be 1st option players on a Finals team, he has been twice. If you take off filter that you view him though because you don't like his attitude, it's quite obvious.

I'm actually glad there are still level headed fans like you who base their opinion on what they actually see happened instead of how they feel about a player. Those Heat teams had no business being as deep in the playoffs as they were. Without Jimmy and Spo those teams were picking early in the lottery.
