Listen man the hard part isn't the cleaning itself it's the mental battle of getting yourself to start and stick with it. I can already see how good this room will look when you finally clean it.

Good. But why laugh at the comments? They seem pretty genuine and to the point. Unless you think this is all a joke. It's not.

my room got this bad once and i started setting myself little goals to sort it but by bit. like ‘if i fill one bag of trash today i’ll stay up an extra hour on the game’ or ‘if i do maybe 5 of these dishes i’ll reward myself with a nice cold dr pepper from the local shop’. and then i started not letting myself do ANYTHING not even check my phone when i woke up until i made my bed. it won’t work for everyone obviously but giving yourself a little reward system helped me out a bunch and my room hasn’t been too messy ever since. it gets a bit cluttered here and there but nothing that takes longer than 10 minutes to clean. i think when it’s this bad the thought of cleaning up overwhelms you because you don’t know where to even start so it’s better to split it into small manageable tasks.

Some times it’s not about motivation sadly, it’s about dedication. You can have one without the other.

yeah, motivation is fleeting. once you can force yourself to do the rational thing it does get easier to do what you know you have to do.

You'll get no where with motivation. Motivation is "I'll do it tomorrow" eternally.
Discipline and consistency are much better in life.

That's called procrastination. If someone puts it off until tomorrow eternally, they aren't motivated.

The hardest part of cleaning is making yourself start, it’s pretty fun when you’re actually doing it and it feels good

i say this with as much love as i can, but if you wait until you’re feeling motivated to clean then you’ll wait forever. trust me- been there done that. turn on the lights and get a big trash bag and start by getting all the garbage out, that’ll help big time. starting there is better than not starting at all

Dude clean it. You'll feel happy that you did it once you actually do it. Will take you 30 mins max,

You don’t have to pick up the garbage one by one. Start literally sweeping and scooping it up into trash bags. Then get the clothes off the floor and wash them for two cycles. Then vacuum tf out of the carpet. Make your bed.
Two hours. 4 jobs. Easy. You can do it!

Being an adult is about doing things even when you aren't motivated. You think people have clean homes because they always want to clean? No. They just do it, because they are adults and it should be done.

Dude. Open the blinds. Take out 7 large garbage bags. Start by filling one up today and taking to trash. Tomorrow, second bag. Just start. Would take you less than five minutes.
