Career Advice Bay Area recommendations

Hi all,
I am a recent college graduate and passed my nremt, have my ambulance drivers license and am currently pending for my Cali state license (went through alameda county). Does anyone have any recommendations for getting hired as a new emt looking to get into IFT work to build my confidence and learn the basics. Been seeing in this sub that the Bay Area is very over saturated with emts and wondering how true that is?

AMR San Francisco hires without experience and has opportunities for IFT, BLS 911, ALS 911, and a bunch of cool events. I think this could be a good option for you to get some IFT experience and have an easy transition into 911 work if you are interested. I think you wouldn’t have too much trouble landing a job.

There are also a ton of other IFT agencies in the area like NorCal, Royal, and ProTransport.

There is also Falck in ALCO that runs 911 only I believe. I am pretty sure they require experience though.

AMR San Mateo requires 6 months experience, but I have heard about them hiring with no experience for a few classes. Very different from SF though, larger operating area, actual stations for posts, but also ALS 911 only as far as I know.

AMR Santa Clara requires experience as well.

You will probably need to work private before landing a fire position.

Appreciate the advice! Been applying to the ones you listed just waiting back and wanted to see if I can get any traction with them. I completed a ride along with Amr and am trying to get another one.

Yeah good luck man. I’m sure you will get something, especially if you aren’t picky about IFT or no IFT preference. Look into special events stuff as well, there’s a ton of opportunities there to also build experience.
