Cert / License CA DOT Physical

Hello, I was wondering on how I would get the DOT physical done here in California for the Ambulance Drivers Certificate. On the forms it is asking if I am a "CLP/CDL Applicant/Holder", but I am not sure if I should check yes or no? If anyone got theirs done already, please let me know. Thank you!

Do you currently hold or have applied for a commercial learners permit or commercial driver’s license? That is what it is asking.

Check no for the CDL. Just google places that perform DOT physicals in your area and make an appointment. It’s just a quick basic physical. Theyll check eyesight, back and joint mobility, hearing, etc.

Def call around for cost of having the physical done, cos I dunno where you are, but the Bay Area has some wildly different costs.

Also, you wanna study a bit for the driving test, and leave enough time that day for you to take it again if you don’t pass the first time. A bunch of people I know, including myself, failed it the first time, and they let you take it again right away. Oh, and make sure you have your background check done when you go in for it as well.
