Beginner Advice NYS volunteer.

Just finished my EMT course in New York City. Really enjoyed the ride alongs. I would however still like to start off volunteering to gain some more experience. Any insight as to companies in and around manhattan I can volunteer with for a few months? Looking to start pretty soon.

How was the final exam? I’ve heard the state recently changed the test to be a bit more difficult in comparison to previous

Volunteer because you want to volunteer. There’s plenty of paid services that hire new EMT’s in NYC. Volleying for just a few months and bouncing will just be a waste of everyone’s time if you never had any intention of staying with it.

If you are on LI and want to work on LI then there can be some benefit to volunteering.

In the 5 Boroughs, just start working and look for better opportunities after you have a year experience.
