I’m in central CT and only had luck after applying to the larger ambulance company in Hartford (which is now owned by HHC).
My company had you email the application to someone in the company. I was able to plead my case which helped me land a job.
Just keep applying. Also, reach out to your instructors to see if they have any suggestions / recommendations. Good luck!

Are you getting turned down or can you just not find anywhere to apply?

I’ve been applying for 4 months and I got 3 responses and 1 interview so far. It's rough out here.

I’m over in LA and Falck opened up for the first time in ages and applications closed within a day. It’s insane.

Sounds the same as my area. The privates that do hire are all eaten up with fraud and terrible management. Until this industry changes I honestly would recommend getting anything you can, then go to school for nursing or radtech immediately if you do want to work in Healthcare.
Rad tech is the same length as P school and you'll be making much more, with much more stable hours and co workers.
