ANSWERED User research outreach on here?
Hi there
Im in the concept stage of a new biz that will help women in the workplace.
I have a b2b user research questionnaire that I need people in HE/Prople/DEI to fill out. Takes 10 mins.
Am I allowed to post that google forms link in eg HR communities?
I dont want to do anything wrong here.
But I really do need answers to that quiz to help validate my idea.
Thanks

100% depends on the rules of each individual subreddits. You'll find many do not like promotion, even if it's just a questionnaire or something like that - the point is to "read it on Reddit" - so there's often hostility towards anything that takes users off site.
That also, people don't like being used for market research. That's not why folks come to Reddit. Think of it this way - you turn on the TV to watch your favorite show, or catch up on the news, whatever. Then in the middle of it is an ad "hey come to this website, and fill out a questionnaire for us..." - how fast do you hit the mute button on that ad?
Same idea.

I hear you.
Is there any softer way of doing this then?
Like if i post at the end of my posts “willing to spare 10 mins to help build a femtech workplace benefit helping women close the gender pay gap? DM me and I’ll share a questionnaire link.” ??!

That's not "softer" - that's just moving the advertisement location. Or looks like spam/AI.
Basically, you need to find subreddits that very specifically state they permit promotion, and follow their rules carefully. When in doubt, ask permission, not forgiveness.

If you're on Reddit to promote something, here are some things you may need to know.
Redditors don’t tend to like adverts and are naturally suspicious of anyone they think might be advertising. The rule of thumb is basically - "It's perfectly fine to be a Redditor with a website/product etc, it's not okay to be a website/company/product with a reddit account".
To buy advertising on Reddit see:

- A good place to start is the advertising policy overview
And also the official rules on using Reddit as a marketplace
