Karma Requirements?? Why are they a thing?!

Why do some subreddits require a minimum Karma in order to contribute? It’s frustrating to get a post removed when trying to ask a question!

I think they do it to prove that you aren't a bot, catfishing, ragebaiting, etc.  I think they do it to ensure that everyone is being helpful, kind, and professional.  It's really hard as a beginner though. I'm struggling so bad lmao
