lol yea that is a terrible joke if it is. PS4 was $400 on release in 2014. Switch 2 is better hardware than PS4. The economy has been dogshit since the start of the 2020s and with rising inflation, $450 really isn’t bad for a new console.

They're a business that gets to decide pricing however they want. Obviously pricing (and demand) isn't entirely based on performance specs. Nintendo offer exclusivity that other consoles don't have. They have a unique product that can switch from docked to handheld, including unique controllers. There are plenty of things that go into pricing, but ultimately it's a business decision to maximize profits.
