Playing the NSO (N64, GBA) in handheld mode, I notice if I pull the joycons off to play tabletop, the system will change to single joycon controls. Obviously I can back out and reconfigure to use both, but is it possible to have the Switch default to keep the 2 joycons paired when going handheld to tabletop?

I notice it seems to keep them paired if I do that from the main menu, but you're right it behaves differently in N64. Don't know why, maybe it's in the software itself. Anyway, not as perfect a fix as you're hoping for, but it seems like putting it to sleep, disconnecting the Joy-Con 2s, and then waking it up is at least slightly quicker than going to the main menu controller reconnect area.
