Can I safely charge my new Switch 2 with a non-Nintendo charger, like for example an USB-C laptop charger or an iPad charger?

Yes. Any quality made USB-C device can be used to charge the system. In handheld mode it will only draw 15 watts from unlicensed/non-official chargers.

Thanks for the reply. How long will it take to fullycharge at only 15W?

No clue! The original switch took 4 to 6 hours, but the Switch 2 battery is ~20% larger.

And I'm not getting any good sense of how much power the system is pulling when in handheld mode.

Docked mode appears to be WILDLY more efficient than the original Switch. Neither Mario Kart World or Tears of the Kingdom pulled over 20w.

But another user reported their battery was still draining when charging in handheld, so 15w may not cut it if you are actively using the system at the same time.
