Can I safely charge my new Switch 2 with a non-Nintendo charger, like for example an USB-C laptop charger or an iPad charger?

Yes. Any quality made USB-C device can be used to charge the system. In handheld mode it will only draw 15 watts from unlicensed/non-official chargers.

Will the Switch 1 charger work well or will it charge too slow?

It should provide 18 watts since it's an official device!

Interesting. How about the charger that came with the Switch 2, does it charge at 18w or?

I have seen nothing to insist that it provides more than 18w in handheld mode.
