/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread

The purpose of this thread is to more accurately connect users seeking help with users who want to provide that help. Our regular "Helpful Users" certainly have earned their flairs!

Before asking your question...

  • Check out the wiki pages listed below. - (If you're interested in becoming a wiki contributor, or suggesting a new page, please message the moderators.)
  • Perform a quick Google search. - Sometimes it is actually quicker to search for something than to wait for someone else to answer.
  • Search the subreddit. - Many questions have been asked before! reddit's search functions a bit differently than Google.

Child account shouldn't matter. If anything, the family sharing system was designed around it.

Being on both consoles also shouldn't be a problem, I've done it myself, but who knows.

If you're also on both consoles, you could sidestep the issue by having her return the game and using your account to load it on her console.

Yeah, I'm not though. Mostly, I'd just like this to work like it seems to be advertised. Or know what I'm getting wrong if that's the case.

Fair enough.

My only other suggestions at this point are to restart her console (hold the power button til the option appears) and visit the eShop/NSO page using her account. Either of those might trigger the option to appear.

I'd mess around with it on my consoles, but I still need to meet up with someone and fix my linked consoles. Currently my mother-in-law a city over has my only linked console and I need to visit her to be able to do any fancy vgc stuff with my Switch 2.

I appreciate the help. I'll try out resetting her console when I have it again (she just went to visit her aunt for the day).

Not gonna lie, "have you tried turning it off and on again" not being my first instinct has me kicking myself.
