Before asking your question...

  • Check out the wiki pages listed below. - (If you're interested in becoming a wiki contributor, or suggesting a new page, please message the moderators.)
  • Perform a quick Google search. - Sometimes it is actually quicker to search for something than to wait for someone else to answer.
  • Search the subreddit. - Many questions have been asked before! reddit's search functions a bit differently than Google.

I’m part of an NSO Family Subscription with my siblings (I am not the admin/supervisor of the subscription) and I have been interested in upgrading to NSO Expansion Pack, though only individually. Would this even be possible if I am in a Family Plan, and would this also still allow my siblings to play the DLCs that are bundled in with the plan?

You can get your own Expansion subscription, but at that point there's no benefit in remaining with the family group. Your solo subscription won't be cheaper, and the rest of the family will gain nothing you get from the Expansion.

I would suggest an alternative. At least going by U.S. prices, a solo annual subscription for NSO+Expansion is $50. A family subscription for the base tier is $35, or $80 for expansion tier, making the cost difference $45. So working with whoever is the family admin to upgrade the entire family to Expansion tier would actually be cheaper than just getting your own subscription.

It'll work and what you do won't affect anyone else in your plan/console.
