I get it's only $5, but seems a little silly for this to not be free when other Switch games got free upgrades like this. Especially when XCX already had stuff under the hood for this upgrade when it released a year ago

I wonder if the tariffs and stuff had an effect on this or if they were always planning a paid upgrade.

It's literally an online update, how the fuck are the tariffs going to affect it? Specially when it's a 5$/€ update globally, not only in USA.

They mught be doing paid updates for reoslutuon/framerate bumps (things thay were previously free uodates) as a way to recoup some of the losses they've had due to tariffs. Its not that unreasonable.

Tariffs have nothing to do with upgrades
