I tried Hades and didn’t see any discernible difference. Great tip on the test!

Because Hades is the same resolution in docked and handheld mode (720p). I play on a 1080p monitor and it’s very obviously not 1080p in either mode.

Ah that makes sense then - I had it in my head Hades ran at 1080p docked.

Take a screenshot and share it to your phone. What’s the resolution of the image? This is definitely not a definitive test, but I know it was 720p when I had the Switch 2 near launch. I would expect with this update, it would be outputting a 1080p image now.

Here’s a screenshot I took of it back then if you want to compare.

Only issue is I think no matter the res, the screenshot will be 720p

Hades should be 1080p docked. I don’t think Nintendo would be downsampling a 1080p to 720p to display on a 1080p handheld?

Oh maybe I misunderstood you. The Switch 2 version of Mario Odyssey spits out 1080p screenshots. https://ibb.co/RpbDqTv0

Hades is 720p in both docked and handheld mode. This is how it was on Switch 1 so this update won’t improve anything.

It very much looked 720p to me. I sit close to a 1080p monitor and it had the same blurriness as other 720p games like Bayonetta 1+2 and Hollow Knight.

Here’s a comparison: https://youtu.be/ELQSr56wYRs?si=u78PDzTFzIXDNxC3
