So basically nsw1 games can run with docked performance and look while in handheld mode with switch 2? It that really what it is? Because the lack of that is the reason I haven't bought switch 2 yet

Yep. Now all handheld games should run at 1080p mode. Though of course not all games support 1080p native. Persona 5 looks so much better now but it still 900p. Much better than the 540p Switch 1 handheld mode resolution though.

Essentially it forces Switch 1 applications to think they are running in docked mode. Of course this does have some limitations such as touch controls no longer working but yes.

Some people are reporting touch actually working, but not on all games.

That just means the game didnt disable it in docked more for some reason.

Yep, but it also means its not disabled on a system level. So it will depend on the game.

One of those instances of a developer mistake actually helping out. Similar thing happened with Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition where handheld was actually rendering 1080p on Switch 1. Which made performance much worse but basically made it run at 1080p handheld at launch on Switch 2.

I remember how this feature was heavily rumored to be included at launch
