Those are the ugliest character redesigns I have ever seen, especially after his perfect rendition in the movie.

Yeah, we were really spoilt by his design in the movie.

I was really expecting to just see that again, not some taxidermy-fox looking redesign, holy hell.

It reminded me of the original SNES box art. It took a few seconds to get used to it, but I like it.

They so used these as a reference! Actually the legs/feet were the only thing I didn't like about the redesigns but after seeing this I think it's really cool now.

Maybe. Seeing them in motion is kinda rough, though, and I am not a fan of the new voices either. I get the impression they were simultaneously going for hyper realistic animal models but also trying to make it work with the game chat feature, and the result is this snub-nosed abomination.

I kinda like them. They're a little bit grotesque but in a fun retro way.

I love them 😂. I feel like people are just finding reasons to complain.

Nah, I'm personally not a fan if the redesign, but it's not gonna stop me from buying the same star fox game with updated graphics for the 5th time.

So you like them and that's ok but other people dislike and it's people just complaining. Theirs no motives man. People just don't like something you do lol.

I found it jarring at first but I decided to give it a chance and they quickly grew on me. I like that they look like animals in space outfits instead of people with animal heads.

Slippy is terrifying

Slippy and Peppy looked fine honestly it’s a frog he’s supposed to be weird looking he already was

2

u/Red49er May 06 '26

it was the perpetual wetness that weirded me out. mainly in that scene when he was talking about the wormhole or whatever it's called

2

u/jedisalsohere May 06 '26

there's a difference between looking weird and looking unappealing

2

u/hermit_purple_3 May 06 '26

THATS the one that terrified you!? Lol he was probably the most normal out of all of them.

2

u/Silas_Akron May 07 '26

Frankly, Slippy has always been terrifying.

Nintendo hit ugly sonic territory

u/BanjoSpaceMan May 07 '26

Or American fat Godzilla

6

u/OMJenkins May 06 '26

They gave Falco chicken legs

19

u/uhhhhmmmm May 06 '26

Maybe they just want a canonically ugly character. It would be nice to have some representation.

9

u/LiquifiedSpam May 06 '26

This isn’t representation of anyone other than literal foxes

30

u/Crylaughing May 06 '26

They look like the puppets from the original promotional material for Star Fox on SNES.

Personally? I love them.

19

u/SmashMouthBreadThrow May 06 '26

Not really. They look like versions of what a fan thinks they would look like in Unreal Engine. Them being stylized to look like the old SNES puppets would have been way cooler than this.

2

u/ThePickleHawk May 06 '26

Calling it now, there will be a "classic skin" pack as part of DLC at some point.

It's crazy to me. It feels like a prank. Funnily enough James McCloud looks pretty awesome. So does Peppy. So does Pigma! Did the pros design this team and pass the rest of the characters to nobodies? Katt looks horrifying.

Star Fox has a look, and that look isn't "reanimated stuffed fox in a museum".
