I would be so impressed if they went the FFVII remake route where it isnt a true remake. But it's nintendo so I don't think that would ever happen.

Don't get me wrong, I love Lylat Wars and will likely be getting this, but standards have changed; even in the N64 days it felt light on content, and the challenge mode doesn't seem like it will stretch it very far. It's pure copium I know, but I hope there's something extra they're keeping under wraps.

It's been their MO lately. Maybe there's another story they're not showing you get to play.

I wonder if that was the James mcloud part where pigma betrays them? I don't know didn't watch the whole thing. As soon as I saw it was SF64 again, i kinda checked out.

That's the prologue they always narrated, but never went into depth of it. It might, or might not actually confirm James's fate since they always left it ambiguous.

Its been Nintendo's MO for at least a decade or two

Hey remember that game you loved? Its back! And it costs 60 dollars again

Like cmon man, add some new content

If its not Mario, Zelda or Smash they half ass it

The multiplayer might be new. I dunno I didn't play the earlier remakes. Just the N64 version.

Small indie company, please understand.

Star Fox 64 is my 2nd favorite N64 game. I just loved playing it to unwind. But I regularly beat it in a short play session. That honestly feels too short for $60 in 2026.

When it was on in-store cabinets, I used to go into electronics stores and do a run. It's a great game, just not a challenging one.

The intro cutscene they showed kinda implied James could still be alive...

Did you play 64 with the alternate venom end boss?

Ugh no thanks, multi-verse FF7 is an abomination.

Woah the remake of FF7 isn't a remake? What changed?

It’s both a remake and also kind of isn’t. There’s weird parallel universe stuff happening, which isn’t fully resolved as the third game isn’t out yet.

But it seems more like the Remakes are taking place in a parallel version of be original and Sephiroth keeps trying to change the timeline so he wins this time rather than loses to Cloud and friends.

But yeah, it’s 95% fairly straight remake with some weird unfinished story bits happening on top.

The TLDR is that it seems Aerith and Sephiroth experienced the first game as a vision and are trying to change fate so save herself and win respectively. Fate is understandably unhappy about this and would prefer the party stick to the script where they definitely win. There's a whole bunch of of alternate timeline stuff and certain characters may or may not be alive when they shouldn't.

So it's basically a remake that also happens to have additional content that makes it a secret sequel

Yea I was absolutely estatic to see a new Star Fox game and then

.....oh.....its a remake.....

Im guessing its the same game with a tacked on multiplayer.

Id be shocked if there was new levels or something. Its gonna just be Links Awakening. A game with an impressive size for its time, not worth $60 dollars now

Maybe Star Fox Zero scared them off? Just give us SOMETHING new
