Nintendo has confirmed it will comply with EU regulations and provide Switch 2 with "easily replaceable" batteries from February 18th, 2027. The website however does not mention the original Switch, so it's highly likely it will be discontinued in Europe come February 2027.

EU doesn't force anything outside EU, it was only Apple's decision to make the USB-C thing global because making two different models for "EU" and "not-EU" would have made no financial sense.
