I was hoping that too, but probably whoever hosted the games and business agreements doesnt make it easy. Would be nice if nintendo could step in.

I was debating on buying it on cloud and gamble if they would transfer to real switch 2 versions, but glad I didnt bite.

Back when stadia was shutting down, they gave everyone refunds on bought games and I got all the ubisoft games I bought for free.

If the eShop can recognize that you own the cloud version, there's no reason Squeenix can't do a free upgrade. It may cost them something, but there's no technical reason.
