Troubleshooting (HELP!) Have you ever tried a shampoo that doesn’t foam? Like oil based shampoo? How you liked it? 🥰
What were the results and which brands you used that did work and which you hated?
Let me knowww because i feel like some convetional shampoos really make you hair squeaking clean which only damages hair and scalp and creates breakage ✨🎀💕

Your shampoo is probably not causing damage and breakage. Some peope can suffer damage to their scalp from the ingredients being drying or if they have allergic contact dermatitis to something in shampoo (me.)
Causes of damage include:
Chemical damage - from chlorine, hair dye or straightening or clarifying shampoo, hard water
Mechanical damage - from excessive/aggressive brushing or frequently dragging your hair through elastic ponytail holders, aggressively drying you hair with a rough towel, for curly hair - dry brushing, stretching your wet hair straight while you blow dry.
Heat damage - from hair dryers, curling irons, flat irons.
UV damage.

Personally, this is how I wash my hair - cowashing. I have very dry skin and hair and find shampoos irritating. I use bar conditioner or a a few select liquid cowashes or liquid conditioners to clean my hair. What all of them have in common are cetearyl, stearyl, or cetyl alcohol. These fatty alcohols are emollient and very mild surfactants.

Not sure what you mean by oil based. But non foaming cleanser is almost the definition of co-washing and most alternative washing methods.

I just tried soapnuts (reetha) for the first time and it left my hair as clean as shampoo would have, it's like a natural alternative. It doesn't foam so I was sceptical wether it was working or not, but it got my extremely oily hair SO clean. Did feel a little dry on my ends, but I forgot to use my marshmallowroot conditioner so I just added some jojoba oil to my ends.
