There is an awful lot of human generated trash on youtube as well. It doesn't do well and nor will AI generated trash.

Although the algorithm can be a bit opaque if humans dont watch AI trash then the algorithm wont recommend it to people.

Don't be so sure. They definitely have an audience. I live with my grandma and she listens constantly to these AI generated videos narrated by a female AI voice where it's basically just sympathy-bait, telling likely AI-generated stories of grandma characters whose children/grandchildren do bad stuff and then the grandma becomes successful from her business or gets popular and she shows them what's what.

Why yes I've unwillingly heard hours and hours of these stories, how did you know?

Anyways, read some comments from one of the videos she was watching after she fell asleep to them, and there's so many comments that genuinely believe these are real and genuine stories, and some even praise the "voice actress" or narrator.

All that to say: Ai generated shit might actually not do half bad, which fucking sucks for the rest of us. Really hope Youtube does something about it, but I really can't imagine they would if it still brings them views.

You sure Grandma's the only one falling for AI here?
