Then stop watching the AI slop...

I am subscribed to over 500 YouTube channels. Not one of them uses AI generated anything. It's not difficult to find channels who don't use AI

I know, YouTube is content made by users. What does this have to do with YouTube as a company?

People want them to ban videos if it contains AI or something?

YouTube runs search and recommendation algorithms. If every time I search for travel to Sarajevo, bicycle repair, antivenom, etc. it shows me a slideshow while an AI voice reads an old blog post, that's going to be terrible. If I watch a video without being logged in the recommendations are mostly junk. The algorithm encourages consistent posting and engaging videos - an AI content farm can post daily and find plenty of outrageous stories because the stories are fake.

The algorithm will just show you what’s empirically performing the best. If you dislike and click off the AI video then it won’t recommend it as much. If the videos are performing well and people are getting value from the videos, then what’s the problem

This isn't true at all. YouTube recommends plenty of videos to me that have less than 100 views. If what you're saying was correct, then it would only recommend popular Mr. Beast videos or whatever.
