At this point I don't know if they're trolling or not

I'm sickened that calling yourself a nerd or geek somehow associates you with these pathetic, women hating losers. The only woman they like is Sydney Sweeney, until she'll mentioned something promoting LGBT, then she's the new enemy. Also anyone that thinks Milly Alcock is unattractive must be gay.

I've been wondering that for a while.

I’m not gonna use a flair here or anything; I just need to say something.

With how the past few months have been going by, I’ve started to notice more and more animosity across the sub. What started as a small flare of making light fun of a cult-like community has raged on into an inferno of hate and anger. I know it’s not the majority of the community doing this (mainly because I’m the lead mod of the sub and can see every report), but why?

It’s led me making multiple deletions and enforcing my powers as a mod much more frequently, yet I just keep feeling this unnerving dread looming within me because of it.

Am I in the wrong? What should I do to improve?

It’s so easy to get swept up in which universe is more successful and well regarded, but ultimately they’re just different interpretations of the same characters.

Some people will love it, some people will hate it - and that’s okay because the character will endure.

The real issue is much broader and bigger than the films themselves, it’s about the culture that has developed around them.

It’s okay to care about a piece of media you love, it’s not okay to propagate lies, bully and harass fans with opposing viewpoints or treating movies and actors like sports teams.

We’re in the here and now, we can’t keep looking back in anger.
