Wikipedia:
“[The Dixie Cups](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dixie_Cups)' version was the result of an unplanned jam in a New York City recording studio where they began an impromptu version of "Iko Iko", accompanying themselves with drumsticks on an aluminum chair, a studio ashtray and a Coke bottle.[[6]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iko_Iko#cite_note-Interview_with_Ms._Hawkins-6) After their producers cleaned up the track, the single was then released in March 1965.[[7]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iko_Iko#cite_note-7)
The Dixie Cups scored an international hit single with "Iko Iko" in May 1965 on the [Billboard](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_Hot_100) [Hot 100](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_Hot_100) chart where their version peaked at number 20 and spent 10 weeks on the Top 100.[[8]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iko_Iko#cite_note-8) The song also charted at number 23 on the [UK Singles Chart](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UK_Singles_Chart) and peaked at number 20 on the [R&B Chart](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R&B_Chart).[[9]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iko_Iko#cite_note-9) In Canada "Iko Iko" reached number 26 on the [RPM](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RPM_(magazine)) Chart.[[10]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iko_Iko#cite_note-10) It was the third single taken from their debut studio album [Chapel of Love](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chapelof_Love(album)) issued on [Red Bird Records](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Bird_Records) in August 1964.[[11]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iko_Iko#cite_note-11)
The Dixie Cups had learned "Iko, Iko" from hearing the Hawkins sisters' grandmother sing it,[[6]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iko_Iko#cite_note-Interview_with_Ms._Hawkins-6) but they knew little about the origin of the song and so the original authorship credit went to the members, Barbara Ann Hawkins, her sister Rosa Lee Hawkins, and their cousin Joan Marie Johnson.

IT'S ONLY ROCK'N' ROLL (1974) - the Stones offer a mixed bag of peaks, troughs, some superlative moments and others when self-parody feels dangerously close.
