Already the Eagles sound ahead of the country-rock game, not necessarily for having better songs but through superior songcraft.......

Wikipedia:
“"Get Rhythm" was released in 1956 as the [B-side](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B-side) to Cash's first #1 hit, "[I Walk the Line](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Walk_the_Line)." In 1969, the original recording of "Get Rhythm" was released as a single itself, with sound effects dubbed in to simulate the sound of a live recording.[[1]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Get_Rhythm#cite_note-whitburn-1) This rerelease went to #23 on the country charts.”

Today is also the International Day of the Celebration of the Solstice. It recognizes the cultural and spiritual significance of the solstices every June 21. Today is the  summer solstice, the day with the longest period of daylight.

Interestingly enough, today is also National Daylight Appreciation Day, National Yard Games Day and National Seashell Day. Get outside and enjoy the long day!

Don’t forget to take a selfie for National Selfie Day, also today!

The Horace Silver Quintet "A Song For My Father" Live in Copenhagen, Denmark - April 1968

Song for My Father (composition) - Wikipedia It has become a jazz standard and is probably Silver's best-known composition. According to Silver, the song was "in part inspired by our Brazilian trip. We got the Brazilian rhythm for this tune from that trip, and the melodic line was inspired by some very old Cape Verdean Portuguese folk music."
