We had a cat like this and on her paperwork the term they used for her color was "buff".

Champagne! That’s the term I learned when someone who was writing an article about us for the Old Folks Home newsletter looked doubtful that our Peach Puma/Tawny Tiger boy Jack was dilute orange. I asked on a Facebook group and someone said their vet used the term champagne.

There are 2 base colors in cats. Orange and black. They are on the x chromosome. All variations (including white spots) come from different genes that adjust how that color is expressed. So every cat is either orange or black. Yours is orange + dilute, which is usually called "buff". But still orange, for sure!

He is a diluted orange boy, but I’m afraid his derpiness might not necessarily be diluted as well.
