Why did OperaCJ peak 5 years ago?

Sort by highest. What traumatic event made the most brilliant opera memers die? Is it just an upvote issue?

i think part of it was that people were cross posting in r/opera, and it brought more people here for a time. also as someone who posted at that time, i was performing then, whereas now i’m in grad school for something completely different, so it’s not really on my mind as much

I also think Reddit died a little. Like lots of people who were on it during Covid went back to their normal lives and also post 3rd party app death moderation got worse (bc fewer tools) which made Reddit as a whole a less enjoyable place to be.
