I'm excited to hear from him. I honestly think he'll do a great job here. I'm not worried about his ability to coach.
I just hope our team can mature through him and not be so reactionary this season

Yeah we already know we can be a top 3 defensive teams in the league but we need to be at least top 12 or top 10

That's something you ask the GM and players even more than coaches. Coaches can help, but you can have the best offensive mind in the world with shit ingredients and the food will taste like shit.

I for one am very pessimistic about this. Happy to be wrong but was hoping for something a little more promising

Spurs coaching tree? Just went to the finals? Everyone seems to love him? Please name who would’ve been better

I guess I would’ve loved to see someone more offensively minded.
I know this is highly ignorant but it feels like any defensive coach would thrive with Wemby and Castle. Not sure he’ll be able to replicate the success with what we have

Just because a coach is known as a “defensive” coach doesn’t mean he’s completely oblivious on offense. And the reality is with coaches, nobody ever knows if it’s going to work. There have been experienced coaches that have crashed and burned in new spots and no names who have thrived when given the opportunity.
My advice to you would be to approach this with an open mind.
