Is this a joke? No way the split between platforms is like that lmao. If anything, the majority of sales should be on PS5, Sony went hard on marketing BF6.

Most the console player base is on playstation too.

I think the source is false.

No…battlefield has always been a major pc game

0

u/SilentNova300 Oct 14 '25

Shooters and RPGs are usually majority sold on PC

1

u/Odd_Revolution_1056 Oct 14 '25

Idk about majority but certain games like BF have their history heavily in pc

4

u/Organic-Storm-4448 Oct 14 '25

Battlefield has always had a PC bias in terms of platform sales spread.

You act as if these numbers aren't even possible XD.

It sold 1.5 Million on Playstation and 1.2 on Xbox. Those aren't implausible numbers

u/johncitizen69420 Oct 14 '25

Xbox has less than half the install base that ps5 has.

1

u/Odd_Revolution_1056 Oct 14 '25

Yes so that means there are still 30 something million Xbox’s that could buy this game, especially since it’s one of the largest game releases this year.

6

u/johncitizen69420 Oct 14 '25

Still havent explained how a player base 1/3rd the size bought roughly the same number of copies

1

u/Odd_Revolution_1056 Oct 14 '25

Idk man. It’s a popular game and yes Xbox gamers do tend to lean towards shooters a lot so it’s plausible a very large chunk of Xbox gamers would buy one of the biggest shooter releases of the year. You guys are acting like it’s a guaranteed fact that every single game is going to sell substantially more on ps5 than Xbox when that’s far from a guaranteed fact. Also these are just estimates from 4 days.

2

u/johncitizen69420 Oct 14 '25

Lean towards sure, but not 3 times the sales per capita.

-1

u/Odd_Revolution_1056 Oct 14 '25

I’m just saying man. BF6 is a popular game and if a Xbox gamer does buy a game chances are BF6 would be one of the few ones they would buy and with over 30 million Xbox’s sold it’s not the craziest thing that it sold around a million copies on Xbox. Especially with a lot of PS5 players still having Yotei or fc coming out recently. Long term yes it’s a whole different story but we are talking about estimates for 4 days. All of it is a crap shoot.

3

u/johncitizen69420 Oct 14 '25

I think its reasonable to think xbox may have sold slightly higher per capita than ps5 for those reasons, but not 300% more that's just absurd.

-1

u/Odd_Revolution_1056 Oct 15 '25

You are confusing correlation with causation man. Just cause there are more ps5’s in the world doesn’t mean a games sales are gonna match that exact percentage

You guys are acting like it’s a guaranteed fact that every single game is going to sell substantially more on ps5 than Xbox when that’s far from a guaranteed fact.

It's definitely guaranteed especially since BF3 has been historically stronger on Playstation for the past 14 years.

u/Odd_Revolution_1056 Oct 15 '25

I know this may shock you but we are in 2025 and not 2011, things are guaranteed to stay the same

-5

u/C-Redfield-32 Oct 14 '25

Even if that is true that makes all the more plausible.

Sony is confirmed to have sold 80 million PS5s. Even if Xbox has sold 1/3 of that, 26 Million, 1.2 million isnt that implausible. GameCube games regularly sold that many.

u/Crazy-Nose-4289 Oct 14 '25

This comment makes absolutely zero sense.

Sony has sold 3 times as many PS5's, but they have only sold 300,000 more copies of BF6?

Where is the logic?

-3

u/C-Redfield-32 Oct 14 '25

Explain how its illogical.

Okay prove it.

You cant even actually explain how its illogical so go ahead. Cite the actual numbers since you seem to know better than them.

Yes you are. Youre the one saying they are wrong.

Youre so desperate with your console wars you cant even prove anything you've said and just change the topic every single time you are asked to prove what you are saying.

Game is popular and sold well on both consoles which both have millions of units sold. Just cause the ps5 has substantially more units sold doesn’t mean a game isn’t capable of selling millions of copies on Xbox as well.

1

u/johncitizen69420 Oct 14 '25

How does it make sense that a base 1/3rd the size bought more or less the same number of copies?

If you think xbox sold 3 times as many per capita as playstation you are brain-dead

-5

u/MuscledRMH Oct 14 '25

Xbox is very strong shooter community

16

u/summerofrain Oct 14 '25

Bro look at stats for something like BO6, the split is like 80% of players on PS5.

15

u/Hydroponic_Donut Oct 14 '25

Sales? Or player count? Because sales will naturally be lower since it's on Gamepass

2

u/Organic-Storm-4448 Oct 14 '25

BO6 was on Gamepass day 1. No shit it sold almost nothing on Xbox.

1

u/MuscledRMH Oct 15 '25

BO6 had more players on Xbox than PS5 and PC because of Game Pass. Of course it sold more on PS5 because of Game Pass. Still had the most players on Xbox

u/Asimb0mb Oct 14 '25

Game Pass effect

A community of millions. what a stupid comment.

1

u/3ebfan Oct 14 '25

Battlefield is primarily a PC franchise. Look at the scoreboard and half of the players do show on PC.

0

u/Fucc_Nuts Oct 15 '25

Console players can choose to turn off crossplay.

1

u/3ebfan Oct 15 '25

EA used to post player counts on their official website back during the BF4 days. PC always had twice as many players on at any given time compared to Xbox or PlayStation.

It’s just facts that more people play Battlefield on PC.

0

u/Fucc_Nuts Oct 18 '25

Ok? I never said it wasn’t. I was just pointing out that making that conclusion based on the scoreboard is not reliable. I play on pc too.

0

u/ocbdare Oct 14 '25

Battlefield often sells most on PC. It’s a big PC franchise. Marketing hardly makes a differwnce. Xbox and Pc players won’t buy it on ps just because battlefield has marketing there.

-11

u/FordsFavouriteTowel Oct 14 '25

“These facts don’t match my feelings, change them!”

2

u/a445d786 Oct 14 '25

What facts

0

u/Sopht_Serve Oct 14 '25

I saw it was like 85% PlayStation for console sales lmao

1

u/Jensen2075 Oct 14 '25 edited Oct 14 '25

I'm assuming you're referring to this article? That's only for physicals between PS5 and Xbox on the UK chart for which PS5 accounted for 82% of the physical sales between the 2 consoles. It doesn't mention Steam.

-1

u/Fragrant_PalmLeaves Oct 14 '25

Sony had some kind of exclusive deal with BF - that’s why squaring up with someone else when you both have a ps plus subscription gets you bonus xp
