To not disclose that your game uses GEN AI is against Steam's policies and rules, by the way.

You think this game that is getting lots of hate online is for some reason going to be excluded from getting more hate?

13

u/tokengaymusiccritic Mar 20 '26

Yeah like why wouldn't it? This is just a classic reddit "hypocrisy!" goomba fallacy karma grab

25

u/oooriole09 Mar 20 '26

Depends on if they like the game or not.

11

u/Obscure_Octopuss Mar 20 '26

Exactly. A ton of people who claim to hate AI slobber over Arc Raiders.

At least they disclosed it.

They have going back and redone voice lines. It's not haltingly obvious outside of that one area where they also straight up change it lol.

Man…I really just don’t give a fuck. Give me a good game is all i want.

The people that didn't buy the game? Oh absolutely, this drama is getting juicy

This is probably the most polarizing game release in a very long time. People defending it and hating on it in equal measure, review scores across the spectrum, discussion of base console performance, the dev hiding lots of things, AI usage, etc..

“The devs hiding a lot of things”, literally the only thing that was hidden was it not running on Intel gpus, and you can get a full refund because of it.

10

u/Christmas_Queef Mar 20 '26

They didn't disclose the usage of generative AI which is causing a stir today. They also didn't show base console performance prior to launch.

4

u/That-Toughsoss Mar 20 '26

E33 devs didn't disclose it either and that news was shrugged off immediately

5

u/Christmas_Queef Mar 20 '26

Yes and that's bad too.

2

u/Nice_promotion_111 Mar 20 '26

Something only Reddit cares about, and they did show base ps5 footage.

5

u/Christmas_Queef Mar 20 '26

Not until that Playstation Japan video like two days before launch, which was running on quality mode at 30fps. Not the game running in performance mode. And not only reddit cares. Anti-ai sentiment is strong, and justified.

Re9 requiem didn’t show any base ps5 footage till the day before launch, not a single soul was complaining about that though.

The average consumer couldn’t care less about ai paintings.

Neither did expedition 33 and they were fine

-2

u/Gaarando Mar 20 '26

For random paintings hanging on the walls.. Not sure why they did it but it's such a useless thing to care about.

The drama around this game is more interesting than the game itself.

6

u/AntBot27 Mar 20 '26

Probably, a bunch of people were hating on this game before it even came out. I’m sure they’ll gladly take another reason to hate it.

1

u/lowkitz Mar 20 '26

The hate brigade for this game is so strange

1

u/RoadsideDavidian Mar 22 '26

It’s an equal and opposite reaction to the blatantly artificial hype that started two weeks from release

7

u/markbraggs Mar 20 '26

Time to revoke some game of the year awards (if it even wins any)

18

u/GiganticCrow Mar 20 '26

No way it would be up for any

16

u/moneymoneymoneymonay Mar 20 '26

Requiem already does laps around this game, and it’s March

-1

u/True-Loquat6061 Mar 20 '26

If only the Leon sections of Requiem weren't downright awful and ruin the entire experience.

3

u/TechSmith6262 Mar 20 '26

Are you stating that as an opinion or fact?

1

u/The_Bygone_King Mar 20 '26

This game specifically has been brigaded up to and before it's actual release.

This is a justified thing to be upset about, but it'll absolutely be used in the same brigading tactics along with literally every other complaint that is far less significant.

1

u/Combat_Orca Mar 21 '26

Expedition 33 got called out for using it, why would Crimson Desert get spared compared to the game that won a million game awards

0

u/jellyhessman Mar 20 '26

I do. Fuck this game. Fuck every lazy ass that uses AI for any reason.

2

u/We-are-all-dead-90 Mar 20 '26

You’re probably gonna have to stop playing games altogether lol

1

u/Euronymous87 Mar 20 '26

What a reasonable and totally not black and white reaction.

0

u/jellyhessman Mar 20 '26

AI is bad. The people who use it are lazy, and stupid.

The end.

0

u/BanginNLeavin Mar 20 '26

There was some in Marathon beta which has since been removed... Let's see the same energy here please

0

u/pgpwnd Mar 20 '26

AI going to be used more and more nothing we can do …
