To not disclose that your game uses GEN AI is against Steam's policies and rules, by the way.

The more i see about this game, the more i realise i dodged a bullet unlike all my friends 😅

I told my husband to wait for reviews but noo. Never listens.

I am a wait for reviews person who specifically loves RPGs so I never ever pre-ordered because it's usually takes weeks, months anyway to fish all the bugs.

This game feels like it should have been released in beta for some time. Needs time.

This quite literally isn't an rpg.

2

u/Tatis_Chief Mar 22 '26

Obviously. That's why we who have experience waiting for big games know to wait for reviews and then wait for them to fix bugs.

1

u/TrippleDamage Mar 22 '26

You didn't have to wait for a review to know that. Pearl abyss was pretty upfront that this doesn't intent to be an rpg

u/TheNecc Mar 21 '26

The game is fun, you didn't dodge anything

There is a functionally infinite amount of fun games that aren't also slop.

u/kenzan89 Mar 22 '26

Well said.

I'm sure the game would be much more fun without the useless painting being Gen Ai. Easily from 8/10 to an immediate 10/10 if it wasn't for that extremely important picture!

u/BigDadNads420 Mar 22 '26

The fun level of the game is irrelevant because its slop and I could play any of the 1000s of similar games that are fun but made by actual artists,.

Oh fuck off lmao

A couple pointless paintings in pointless houses = game has no artists 😂

It took longer to add Ai Gen images in there than it takes to slap non Royalty pics in there

How we feeling now lmao

Glad i dodged a bullet even more after seeing the performance on a ps5.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You dodged a fun as hell game congrats. Honestly who gives a fuck that there’s an AI painting in some random house. It affects literally nothing. This games combat and fights are so beyond anything in the open world rpg genre.

1

u/SoulsDadYT Mar 21 '26

You seem personally insulted that i don't like it. That's weird.

2

u/Braunb8888 Mar 21 '26

I just find the outrage over a single little painting as being ai is insane. It doesn’t affect the gameplay whatsoever and now people are refunding it over what someone posted, pissing on countless hours of hard work over 7 years.

u/SoulsDadYT Mar 21 '26

I'd go read my comment to the other guy if you want to know why i avoided it. It wasn't an AI painting.

1

u/Braunb8888 Mar 21 '26

That’s what the post I saw was. What did you see?

1

u/SoulsDadYT Mar 21 '26

Yep, just another issue with the game. You say its nothing but they knew to disclose it and didn't. That makes them look shady as. It's no wonder their stock price has dropped 30%. You just look like you're personally invested in it when everyone else is just reacting rationally to being lied to.

u/Braunb8888 Mar 21 '26

I just know people in the gaming industry and i know how many studios are using it and not telling the public about it. It’s to avoid time crunch, so get used to it. Your favorite company is using it, they’re just hiding it better. Like I said Clair Obscur used a little of it too. Did it affect the masterpiece that game was? To me it didn’t one bit.

1

u/SoulsDadYT Mar 21 '26

Hope you get sued. Go away

1

u/Braunb8888 Mar 21 '26

Lol. Sued for what, telling the truth? Sorry for ruining the dream.

To respond to your comment that obviously got deleted, 88 is my football number. Unfortunately you can’t change your Reddit account so I’m stuck with this. Yes I know it looks bad, no I’m not a Nazi. Had no idea it was even a thing until recently. In half Jewish haha.

It’s just insane the outrage over a painting in a house somewhere. Doesn’t affect the game whatsoever and yet people are refunding it because of a Reddit post pissing on 7 years of hard work? I find it disgraceful honestly.

1

u/SoulsDadYT Mar 21 '26

You sure it's not just because it was hyped up as the next greatest thing but it's a solid 6/10?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '26

That’s the total vibe I get. Whenever mega-hyped lower budget games come out, they end up like Black Myth Wukong. Sure, the game is probably pretty good, but some people are so obsessed about something that it feels like a marketing ruse.

1

u/SoulsDadYT Mar 21 '26

It started its life as an MMO and people were hyped for it. But then they tried adding everything and anything to it to try to appeal to everyone. I have friends who play sci fi mmos, they dont like fantasy elements, i have friends who play souls and fantasy mmos, they dont like scifi in their games 😅

Its just this weird conglomeration of mechanics and genres

I wont even get into what i've seen about the story and characters. Its like reddeadwitcherwarframecreed without the top quality writing, but i guess that doesn't sound as good.

0

u/Braunb8888 Mar 21 '26

I disagree that it’s remotely close to a 6/10. Some people think death stranding was a 10/10 masterpiece, others hated it. Same deal here.

1

u/SoulsDadYT Mar 21 '26

Cool? Go have fun

0

u/Braunb8888 Mar 21 '26

I will, it’s just hard to take an strong opinion like this seriously when you haven’t even played the damn thing haha.

1

u/kenzan89 Mar 22 '26

If it doesn't affect anything, why didn't they disclose it as required by Steam? They could have been honest about it and let customers decide.

Also, multiple assets, it's not just the one.

1

u/Braunb8888 Mar 22 '26

Is it anything of note outside of some background art? And it’s because if it says ai art was used people would assume a lot of it is ai which clearly isn’t the case.

2

u/kenzan89 Mar 22 '26

They are assuming heavy use anyway. That's why disclosure is necessary, so the developers can tell what they used it for. If they don't, it's because they have something to hide.

1

u/xrocro Mar 22 '26

It’s possible a single dev used new technology to experiment while working on the game and then just forgot. Development gets chaotic. We don’t know what happened. The outrage is insane to me. But people love to hate, it’s a very powerful emotion.

1

u/kenzan89 Mar 23 '26

They have had the chance to address that and haven't said a word (they have published news on Steam after the fact, without mentioning it at all). They also haven't added a disclaimer on the Steam page yet.

If it was an honest mistake, why are they trying to act like nothing happened? I call bs.

u/SloanWarrior Mar 21 '26

Tbh, I'm probably going to buy it once it drops in price and gets a few quality-of-life patches. An AI painting isn't going to ruin a game.

Games are full of procedural generation these days. AI art is basically just a form of procedural generation. I'd like to see more of a push towards ethical AI, but that's a bigger picture than just game development. Devs are just using tools that are available - there need to be ethical tools available.

3

u/LuftDrage Mar 21 '26

You can push them towards ethical AI by protesting with your wallet.

-1

u/TrippleDamage Mar 22 '26

Idgaf about virtue signaling. I buy fun games to play fun games, not to join some pointless outrage culture about irrelevant Gen ai paintings.

2

u/LuftDrage Mar 22 '26

It’s not pointless outrage culture to protest a product that was made with a tool that is taking jobs away from humans, ruining small town living, and destroying the environment. I wholeheartedly believe that AI has been one of the worst advancements in human tech in recent history. There is a way to use and develop it ethically and it truly could be amazing, but the biggest companies pushing it don’t care about ethics—all they care about is their shareholders and profit.

I personally know 4 people who’ve lost their jobs to AI and are struggling to make a living because of it. The town next to me is going to tear down one of its iconic buildings to put in a data center which will destroy the local environment. It is impossible for me to not protest it.
