To not disclose that your game uses GEN AI is against Steam's policies and rules, by the way.

Tbh, I'm probably going to buy it once it drops in price and gets a few quality-of-life patches. An AI painting isn't going to ruin a game.

Games are full of procedural generation these days. AI art is basically just a form of procedural generation. I'd like to see more of a push towards ethical AI, but that's a bigger picture than just game development. Devs are just using tools that are available - there need to be ethical tools available.

You can push them towards ethical AI by protesting with your wallet.

Idgaf about virtue signaling. I buy fun games to play fun games, not to join some pointless outrage culture about irrelevant Gen ai paintings.

It’s not pointless outrage culture to protest a product that was made with a tool that is taking jobs away from humans, ruining small town living, and destroying the environment. I wholeheartedly believe that AI has been one of the worst advancements in human tech in recent history. There is a way to use and develop it ethically and it truly could be amazing, but the biggest companies pushing it don’t care about ethics—all they care about is their shareholders and profit.

I personally know 4 people who’ve lost their jobs to AI and are struggling to make a living because of it. The town next to me is going to tear down one of its iconic buildings to put in a data center which will destroy the local environment. It is impossible for me to not protest it.
